Guess what team beat Beaver, you guessed it Western Beaver HS. The Golden Beavers are led by D1 prospects RB Tyson Florence Tyson Florence 6'0" | 180 lbs | ATH Western Beaver | 2024 State PA , WR Mikey Crawford & QB/DB Xander Lefebvre. The Tigers rely heavily on senior signal caller QB Jaren Brickner Jaren Brickner 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Beaver Falls | 2023 State PA , & all-around athletes WR Trey Singleton Trey Singleton ATH Beaver Falls | 2023 State PA , RB Isaiah Aeschbacher & WR/DB De’Sean Anderson. Besides the players mentioned, 6’5 TE Meach Taylor & WR/DB Michael Blackshear have also added to Western Beaver’s success this season. Brickner has been protected well by OL Sy’Mauri McCoy & Company all of 2022. Western Beaver’s notable O-Lineman is senior OT Skyler Silver.
Mikey Crawford
Mikey Crawford
On September 22, 2022, Mikey received his first power five offer from Michigan State. The FBS recruit has great speed & body control. His strength allows him to maintain great balance when he carries the pigskin. On defense, he’s a physical tackler that has great man & zone skills. The junior blue chip has great ball skills on offense & defense. He runs skilled routes plus he’s swift in & out of his breaks. Crawford’s dominant at pretty much every phase of the game. Michigan State won’t be Mikey’s last power 5 offer that’s for sure.
Xander Lefebvre
Xander Lefebvre
Xander is a dual-threat QB & a proficient DB. He has great QB mechanics and pocket footwork. He’s poised with good ball placement & touch on his passes. X throws an accurate ball & distributes it equally among his targets. Lefebvre’s 4.5 speed keeps defenses honest due to the threat of him running out of the pocket. Defensively, he is a solid tackler with great instincts. The senior prospect is skilled at contesting passes. Xander is suited to play offense or defense but I like him at DB.
Levi Gray
Levi Gray
Gray’s a savvy wideout & a 4-year starter at PG for the Golden Beavers hoop squad. He possesses great body control & runs skilled routes. The senior receiver knows how to find the soft spots in zone coverage and sit down. Levi displays strong reliable hands & decent speed. He’s fast enough to beat corners & stretch the defense on deep passes. His wiggle makes him capable of gaining big YAC yardage on short throws. Gray isn’t afraid to be physical stock-blocking or on special teams.
The 24′ prospect has been running up the stats, already rushing for 1040 yds on 121 Carries & a team-leading 15 TDs. The junior RB is on a couple of FBS radars right now. He’s been to FBS Toledo unofficially on a Gameday visit this season. Florence has great balance and accelerating speed. Ty knows when to burst through small running lanes, & he also knows when to put on the afterburners. Tyson’s elusive & effortlessly changes directions running full speed. Florence has great vision & patience toting the rock. Western Beaver’s home-run hitter averages 8.6 yds per carry. Florence scored 6 touchdowns in one game this season.
Highlights
Aaron is a gritty athlete that brings a lot of pound-for-pound strength to the OLB position. He possesses a lot of speed & body control coming off of the edge. Smith is a relentless Blitzer that packs a punch when he collides with ball carriers. He has a knack for causing disruptions in the backfield. Aaron’s get-off from a 2 pt stance mixed with his hand violence is often a mismatch for Offensive Tackles.
McGhee’s recruitment is in its early stages, but FCS & D2 schools have shown him interest. Dorian is a big-body WR that has the speed to take it the distance at any time. The Golden Beavers are loaded at receiver, & McGhee is a weapon that averages 31.4 yds per catch. The junior receiver has the strength to break tackles & maintain his balance & speed on long YAC runs. Dorian has the strong mitts for snagging tightly contested passes from DBs. The 24′ athlete has 15 catches for 471 yds & 7 touchdowns so far this season.
Skyler Silver
Skyler Silver
Skyler is being recruited by multiple D2 schools. He’s a vicious down-blocker that often finishes defensive linemen to the dirt. Silver has a powerful punch & good bend in his stance. He moves well and is capable of blocking LBs on the second level. He has good footwork pass protecting & is stout once he anchors down pass setting. Silver is athletic enough to play OT & C, but brute enough to play OG collegiately.
Singleton’s a deep threat that’s averaging 30.7 yds per catch presently. The senior athlete has been productive, with 28 receptions for 859 yds & 9 TDs in 22′. The veteran leader is a tremendous athlete that’s competitive & confident on the gridiron. The 23′ prospect displays elusiveness & explosion with the ball in his hands. I like him as a Wide Receiver due to his skillset & playmaking ability. Singleton displays good fluidity releasing & getting into his route. Trey has reliable hands & he’s quick in and out of breaks. I believe Trey will be a great returner on the next level also. Beaver Fall’s senior leader is capable of playing D1 WR, & various specialist positions on the D2 level. Singleton has 4.6 speed & doesn’t get caught from behind.
Meach Taylor
Meach Taylor
Taylor has potential as an FCS flex TE with a good off-season. He plays free safety on defense & moves very well for a 6’5 athlete. Even if Taylor didn’t gain the weight, I’d offer him as a possession X Wide Receiver if I was a D2 or NAIA school. The tall junior prospect runs an 11.5 100-meter dash. Meach has good ball skills, that’s why I like him as a flex TE or possession X Wide Receiver.
Sy’Mauri Mccoy
Sy’Mauri Mccoy
Mccoy’s one of the leaders on the O-Line for Beaver Falls. He’s skilled at getting into peak positioning to effectively clear running lanes. I believe Mccoy is capable of playing OG or DT on the scholarship level. Sy’Mauri has good leverage pinning & down-blocking D-Linemen. The 2024 big man needs to keep developing his overall strength for maximum effectiveness.
Jaren has been getting FCS & D2 attention primarily in his recruitment. Brickner is a dual-threat, left-handed, poised in-the-pocket QB. He throws great off of play-action and rollout passes. On defense, he displayed good hips reacting to a fade in single high coverage. The Senior athlete is capable of being a Free Safety collegiately. At QB, Jaren’s a fairly accurate passer, & his ball placement is good on deep routes.
De’Sean Anderson
De’Sean Anderson
Anderson is light, but he plays bigger than his size. The junior prospect isn’t afraid of contact & torpedoes into the backfield on TFLs. He displayed the ability to play man & effectively drop into zone coverage. De’Sean has good speed, & his offensive ball skills translate to contesting passes at the Nickel. The 2024 athlete is quick laterally & he plays with adequate effort. The junior gridder shows promise, and he still has a whole season remaining for more development.
Isaiah Aeschbacher
Isaiah Aeschbacher
The senior prospect has great size & mobility. Isaiah rushed for 809 yds & 10 TD’s a season ago & is still a weapon for the Tigers. Aeschbacher displays good strength & balance when he has the ball. He has long strides & is deceptively quick in short spaces. Isaiah is an important weapon for the Tigers if they hope to make another deep playoff run.
Michael Blackshear
Michael Blackshear
Blackshear’s an explosive athlete that the Tigers find creative ways to get totes. The Beaver Fall’s junior athlete has the speed to break angles if he turns the corner on jet sweeps & reverses. His lateral quickness & body control is a matchup problem for OLBs. On defense, he’s a reliable open-field tackler. Mike has track speed & will be a candidate to return kickoffs in college. The 24′ athlete has been clocked at 11.2 in the 100-meter dash.
