Plymouth South star running back Casious Johnson Casious Johnson 6'0" | 210 lbs | RB Plymouth South | 2024 New E missed the second half, after being diagnosed with a sprained shoulder. The word is he’ll be okay going forward. The Panthers blew a 21-0 halftime lead but in the end, still found a way to pull out a 29-27 overtime win. This will be a two part series with each team’s top recruit performers. Here are the top performers for the Plymouth South Panthers.
TOP PERFORMERS OF THE GAME:
“Davis” is an athlete playing both DB and WR. On defense he reacts quickly in run support. Does a good job in man coverages. Has very good aggressive actions. On offense his hands are very reliable and he has the speed to get separation from defenders. He runs good routs and has loose hips that allow him to turn quickly and smooth. We are hearing he has an offer of support with admission process with Saint Anselm FB. Has a brother “Declan “on the team.
“Johnson” is a special D1 athlete and well known throughout New England. However, his athletic skills were in full display for a short period of time on friday night. He was injured in the 2nd quarter when he sustained a sprained shoulder and did not return. Before being injured he did display some of his talents. Has good hands and will quickly turn for the yards after the catch. A large back that can run inside or outside with extreme power and strength. Already has D1 offers.
Highlights
“Lynch” is a freaky freshman with high-level expectations. He is the brother of Cascious Johnson and plays both RB and DB. His body frame is solid, lean, and athletic. Watching him play one can easily tell he belongs playing at the varsity level. As a DB he his good in man coverage. His speed pops and his agilities and versatility are of high caliber. He is aggressive and will deliver the boom with his elite reaction skills. Once he identifies run he has a superior burst to come up and make the play. He is also a very good RB on offense with good vision and speed to get to the outside perimeter. Projected and on track to be a D1 recruit after all said and done in his high school varsity career.
“Lachance” has great athletic skill. On offense he is a RB who can identify running lanes quickly inside the tackles. His quick burst allows him to avoid 1st level defenders. His open field speed is visible. Plays with passion and his body frame shows he is durable. His defensive skills from the safety position, are where he will likely excel at the next level. He surely knows how to identify run plays all while being fast and aggressive to help with run support. He has a low pad level when tackling and can deliver with power. Pre-snap he mirrors QB play well with his feet. His reaction time is well noticed.
“Ottino” stands large at 6’4″. He can be instinctive and productive in both the run and the pass when blocking. He uses good hand placement on his target with strength, while moving his feet on down blocks. Holds his blocks until whistle is blown. Shows a bit meanness and nastiness in streaks. His balance and body control are visible. A recruit who will likely see interest from a flurry of schools after the season.
Has very similar skill traits as his brother “Liam” who is also on the team. At the “Safety” position he comes down fast. He understands the game and has the ability to read when the ball is being run and and when there is a pass. He has very good angle pursuit. He attacks the ball carrier with his head and front of the ball across the ball-carrier showing good tackle form. He appears to play smart and tough. A very physical football player and also a excellent Basketball player.
“Andrews” had a very good game. He brings a very good athletic frame with speed and loose hips. He can wiggle in and out of defenders after the catch. He is a smooth runner who runs very good routs. Has very good length and he catches the ball with ease. He is willing and likely to high top the ball with secure hands, each and every time he is targeted. He ended the night with 8 targets for 96 yards. He also caught the winning TD in O.T.
