DEFENSE

.Lucien Cone DB 23' Southridge- The only kid to be on this list on both sides of the football. Most athletes don't achieve 3 INTs in a season. He picked off 3 balls in one game, to go with 3 tackles, almost single handily keeping his team in the contest during the 21-20 loss to undefeated Chiawana.

.[player_tooltip player_id='338788' first='Isaiah' last='Patterson'] LB 24' Yelm- On a team loaded with talent, he himself made 13 total tackles, with 4.5 sacks, and 3 tackles for loss, in the 58-14 win over Peninsula.

.[player_tooltip player_id='333710' first='Wyatt' last='Gordon'] Safety 23' Puyallup- The senior DB was instrumental in the team's early season 30-13 win over defending state champ Graham-Kapowsin. His 15 total tackles, 1 sack, and 1 INT, led the way.

.[player_tooltip player_id='155642' first='Michael' last='Montgomery'] LB 23' LB Garfield- Montgomery showed why he is ranked one of the NW's top LB's, with 2 clutch INTs in the 4th quarter, of the Bulldogs upset of preseason favorite Lake Stevens.

.Xavier Ahrens ATH 25' Curtis- Expect to hear a lot about the 6-3 190-pound sophomore athlete in the years ahead. He scored 4 TDs on the night, with 2 INTs returned for touchdowns (84,35) in the 42-0 win over Bethel.

.Dylan Allred LB 23' Royal- I mean who makes 28 tackles in a single game. Allred had an unreal evening, also forcing a fumble and adding 1 INT, in the 21-14 loss to Lynden

.[player_tooltip player_id='158406' first='Julius' last='Leapai'] LB 24' Newport- The 5-11 200 LB has been a tackling machine all year. He finished with 21 total tackles and 4 tackles for loss, in the 33-26 loss to Juanita.

.[player_tooltip player_id='87483' first='Dorian' last='Thomas'] LB 23' Kentridge- The Oregon St commit had an unreal night on both sides of the football, in the 47-14 win over Decatur. On defense he returned 2 INTs for TD's totaling 133 yards.

.[player_tooltip player_id='87416' first='Nahmier' last='Robinson'] DB 23' Skyline- Nate Robinson's son started out the season with a bang, picking off 2 passes, one of which he returned 75 yards for a TD in the 15-0 shutout win over Wenatchee.

.[player_tooltip player_id='87486' first='Ray' last='Wright'] LB 23' Yelm- This was more of a group effort by the Tornado defense, with Wright adding 7 tackles, 4 tackles for loss, and 2 sacks. They actually held Capital to -32 yards rushing on the game, in the 71-0 win. I've personally never heard a stat like that.

.[player_tooltip player_id='333697' first='Jake' last='Mason'] DE 23' Ferndale- The 6-3 240-pound edge rusher became Whatcom County's all-time sack leader with 28, during the teams 27-24 win over Arlington. He finished with 5 tackles, 4 sacks, and 2 passes batted down.

.[player_tooltip player_id='236617' first='Luke' last='Myklebust'] LB 24' Mercer Island- There is no point in sugar coating the 0-9 season, but Myklebust deserves credit for his play. He broke the all-time school record with 22 tackles in a single game, to go with 3.5 tackles for loss, in the 29-21 defeat to Redmond.

.[player_tooltip player_id='443212' first='Mason' last='Kallinger'] LB 23' West Seattle- Another one of those unreal stat lines. Kallinger made 24 total tackles, with 4 tackles for loss, 3 forced fumbles, and a ½ sack, during the 7-6 win over Renton.

.Brady Beaner DB 24' Anacortes- The sophomore set the tone for the season, making 12 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 2 INTs, and a forced fumble to start the year. They beat Oak Harbor in the opener 35-7 and are now (8-1) with this week's 23-13 loss to #1 Lynden.

.Chris Elenbaas LB 23' Lynden- The 6-1 170-pound LB is one of the main reasons Lynden remains undefeated heading into the playoffs at (9-0). He added 15 total tackles, with 2 tackles for loss, in the season opening 24-7 win over Ferndale.
