We had some put up some monstrous numbers and others who dictated the game, and answered the bell when their numbers were called. A few names here will be some to mark down as they continue to show out for the next couple of seasons.
Wyatt Young
Wyatt Young
It was Young’s time to shine Friday night and he did not disappoint. Young showed off his skills throwing, running, and extending plays in order to create something. Young had a strong 45 yard touchdown run where he brushed defenders off and weaved his way through traffic on his way to the endzone. Young showed good poise in the pocket and when he escaped, he kept his eyes downfield looking for his targets. Young helped lead the Falcons to a victory and played his role very well. He has shown that he is a do it all player.
Trey Morris III
Trey Morris III
Morris was back at it again causing issues for the opposing defenses with his runs. Morris wears down a defense with his style, and shows his strength on powerful runs. He showed great vision this game, finding lanes quickly. His ability to stop and accelerate caught the defense off guard and led to a big touchdown run. Morris reached 1,000 yards on the season this game and finished with a statline of 164 yards on 28 carries with 4 touchdowns and a W! Great game from he and the Eagles.
Jones refused to be denied vs the Cypress Creek Cougars Friday night. Jones was accelarating through the lanes and finishing his runs with power. He made the right cuts on zone runs and made sure the first defender would not bring him down. Jones was a difference maker with his 275 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns and cemented the W for his team.
Highlights
Jordan Washington
Jordan Washington
Washington was playing bully ball vs Cypress Springs. His long frame and catch radius made him a valuable target for the game. Washington had some impressive grabs, fighting through defenders and showing strong hands hanging on the ball. He had over 100 yards receiving along with a 61 yard touchdown on the night and was a big part of their close win. Washington has a bright future so definitely keep eyes on him.
I have to show love to Funk who was dominant this game. While watching film, all you see is Funk driving a defender either 10 yards back or into the ground. Funk is a tough tackle who shows good athleticism, bein light on his feet. His size and strength makes him stand out on the field and his play backs it up. Funk plays until the whistle and gives the offense a great push on the left side. He is honestly a top dawg week to week!
