Toledo Central Catholic has now proved to be the best team in the TRAC after dominating Fremont Ross in week 9. The fighting Irish boast a stingy defense as they shut out the high-power Fremont offense that leads the league in points per game. After the match, defensive coordinator Ryan Brown received many adulations from head coach Greg Dempsey.

The Senior Leaders

Mike linebacker Cody Schuberg leads this defensive unit, and he is a force in the run game for the Irish. Toledo football verbal commit [player_tooltip player_id='274825' first='Braden' last='Awls'] is a vital part of the back half of the Irish defense and brings talent and leadership through communication. On the offensive side of things, it's about number seven [player_tooltip player_id='126481' first='Tywaun' last='Clark'], the star QB for the Irish. Clark has been phenomenal this season, crafting his team to an 8-game win streak bringing their record to 8-1.

Javon Murphy is one of the key players that has been very productive this year. His ability to get open and run clean routes has helped him become one of Clark's favorite targets this fall. [player_tooltip player_id='274829' first='Duryea' last='Hall'] is another critical performer that is 6'3 and has a wide catch radius. Hall has repeatedly shown up on film, beating defenders to different field spots and keeping downfield blocks. Mehki Warren is the glue to the entire WR room; his physical approach to the game allows him to gain those tough yards in the clutch. He will be a force in the playoffs based on his versatility as an athlete.

Backfield

[player_tooltip player_id='126481' first='Tywaun' last='Clark'] is having a phenomenal season, as stated before. His leadership skills are excellent, and he knows how to command the field. More specifically, Clark has thrown for over 1,100 yards and rushed for roughly 600, and those numbers are low because they typically only play the starters in the first half of the game. Another reason the senior is confident about their chances of making a run is their running back, [player_tooltip player_id='274392' first='Chris' last='Edmonds']. Edmonds is leading the league in rushing yards with 1,100 plus and leads the league with 20 TDs on the season. Chris has a chance to become the player of the year for the league as they finish the season vs. their rivals in St.francis de Sales.

Rivalry Week

Central Catholic has dominated St. Francis for nearly 20 years in this rivalry, and the game plan for the Irish is to keep the foot on the gas heading into the playoffs. The Irish are 50-point favorites for this weekend's battle.
