The Dreadnaughts have done it! Being the #1 ranked program in Division 2, Dexter has dethroned all they have faced, including Saline. Now, this team has earned the #1 spot and is currently a state-championship favorite. They are an extremely balanced club led by many future college athletes. Dexter averages 39.6PPG and 10.4PAPG, winning each game by an average of 29.2 points. This team is a far cry from their 5-5 2021 season and long past the dark, winless days of 2017 and before. Dexter is set to play Chelsea this Friday, which they are heavily favored to win. This team will likely head into the 2022 playoffs as the #1 seed and the team to beat in their region.

This has been an incredibly interesting team over these past two seasons. Last season, Saline came into the playoffs as the #2 ranked team in Division 1 but was knocked out in the 1st round against #24 Canton. This season, Saline began the season 6-0, absolutely steamrolling the SE Red, but they have since cooled down, having lost two straight. To be fair, those losses have been against Dexter and Bedford, but they face a great Lake Orion team this week that I'm very excited to follow. Over the past few seasons, Saline has been one of the best teams in the state but has fallen in some critical moments. With [player_tooltip player_id='77217' first='CJ' last='Carr'] departing after this season, this may be their best chance for a state title. Win or lose this week, Saline is a playoff team, but will very likely face either Belleville or Southfield A&T if they were to advance to the 2nd-round.

What a year it's been for Bedford! Sitting at 5-2, this is the #12 ranked team in Division 2, and they have a very favorable matchup this week against Western International. They won all the games they should have won, lost a toss-up against Huron, and had a monumental 7-0 upset against Saline. This is a team not nearly enough people are talking about in the Division 2 scene, and this could be a team that continues to surprise people in the postseason.

After a 0-2 start, Huron has bounced back in a big way, dominating most games and now standing at 5-3. A 1-possession loss against Dexter hurts, but without that loss, they've won 6-straight. This week against 5-3 Holt will be a massive game to keep the momentum going, and they currently stand as the #23 team in Division 1. Now, this team may face Saline in round 1 in the Playoffs, which should be a phenomenal matchup.

I'll be honest, this is where it drops off for the Southeastern Red. Monroe has lost big against the best in the Red and won big against some of the worst teams in the Red. They are #39 in Division 1, and playoffs seem bleak at best with a Week 9 matchup against undefeated Riverview to prepare for. This team was a good playoff team in 2020, so let's hope this gets resolved by next season.

Ypsi Lincoln has had a disappointing season, yet there are some things to be proud of. First off, they had a week-1 win against the winners of the OAA Blue, Farmington. Furthermore, they had one-possession losses against Monroe and Bedford. This team has some pieces that can show up sometimes. This is a team with a bunch of seniors, and I hope they can win against rival Ypsilanti.
