Plymouth was on the hunt to be crowned campus champions for the first time since 2019, and the Rocks were looking to play spoiler. Here’s the game recap for those who missed this KLAA battle.
In the first quarter, Salem started off with the ball and looked hungry… feeding Senior RB, Robert Jones but the drive ended with a punt. Plymouth showed life in their first drive until a fumble hauled the drive and gave the Rocks momentum… That momentum was short lived when Salem returned the favor fumbling the rock a few plays later. Plymouth made sure they held onto the ball, relying on Senior RB, Evan Cosgrove to carry the rock and ended up punching in a 11yd TD to end the first quarter. Plymouth up 7-0.
The second quarter the Wildcats got the train rolling and the train didn’t stop!!! Plymouth’s Cosgrove found himself in the endzone again from 10yds out to put the Cats up 14-0. On their next drive, Junior QB, Sam Plencner threw a 16yd TD, giving Plymouth a 21-0 lead. Salem would catch a few good drives but all ended in punts… all of them beside one that ended in a Pick Six from Plymouth’s Junior WR/SS, Luc Damiani. Damiani had himself quite the night on both sides of the ball… also catching a 6yd TD from Plencner to end the half. Plymouth up 35-0 at Halftime.
The second half had a lot less fireworks but defiantly and a HUGE firework!!! Plymouth’s QB, Sam Plencner, did find himself rushing in a 10 yard TD in the 3rd to put the Cats up 42-0. In the fourth, Salem put together their best drive on the evening, finding themself in the redzone… but Plymouth’s Luc Damiani decided to ruin that by picking yet another pass and returning this one for 98yds for a TD!!!
