Elimination Games
Stoney Creek defeats Anchor Bay 21-20 | Extremely close game that I expected to go to Stoney Creek by a larger margin. Stoney Creek makes the postseason!
Rochester defeats Renaissance 34-21 | Rochester makes the postseason with this huge win!
Hartland defeats Livonia Stevenson 31-17 | Great win for Hartland. Already a playoff team.
Cass Tech defeats Brother Rice 33-14 | Some had this game listed as a pick-em, but I truly expected this outcome. Two state champ contenters right here.
Groves defeats Seaholm 14-7 | WOW! This game was exciting. Seaholm had their chances but couldn’t convert. A bright side is that Kinnie looked great throwing the football. These teams are extremely likely to meet in Round 1 of the postseason!
Ferndale defeats Lake Shore 54-21 | Ferndale is postseason-bound.
West Ottawa defeats Jenison 13-10 | Sorry Jenison, but every media member in the Grand Rapids area was rooting heavily for West Ottawa. It’s nice to see the panthers likely in the postseason!!!
Howell defeats John Glenn 56-20 | The expected outcome, but was noneless a potential elimination game.
Bloomfield Hills defeats North Farmington 28-21 | N Farmington just can’t win close games. Bloomfield Hills gets a great win.
Portage Central defeats Lakeshore 20-14 | Nothing much to add. Great win for Central!
Grosse Ile defeats Henry Ford 42-14 | Toss up on paper, but Grosse Ile gets the job done by a large margin.
Adrian defeats Owosso 26-0 | Expected. Adrian makes the postseason.
Niles defeats Dowagiac 53-7 | Again, expected.
Saline defeats Lake Orion 49-21 | Two 1st-quarter turnovers from Lake Orion put them in a hole early. This was the expected outcome for most, but I honestly thought Lake Orion had a much better shot.
Big Games – No comment for these. Did not effect playoffs much, but many rivalries here.
