I got a chance to see Lisle LIVE in action as they took on the Peotone Blue Devils. With that being said, let’s take a look at some of the Lisle Lions that caught my eye and need to watch for the rest of this fall season.

Mr. Farrell has been on my radar for some time now and has recently committed to Kent State University to continue his football career at the collegiate level. This young man is one heck of an in-line blocker as he’s aggressive at the point of attack to create running lanes for his teammates to hit. He can also block in open space by getting out of his stance quickly and on the move to pick up either the outside linebacker or safety – this was seen a few times Friday night. In pass protection, he can mirror to tie up the rushing defender to keep the pocket clean for his QB. He can also play on the D-Line as well where he plugs gaps and can work as a two gap defender. Highlights
Casey Rosenburg
Casey Rosenburg
Mr. Rosenburg is a new name to me this fall season and is one that came up big for the Lions in this matchup. As the Lions were looking to pick up a playoff berth sitting at 4-4 coming into this matchup, they had a chip on their shoulder and continued to fight until the very end. This young man’s ability to get vertical quickly once he secures the catch was on full display as he took a receiver screen the distance for six in the 2nd. Once he got vertical he did flash his elusiveness making the outside linebacker miss in open space before having a free lane to the endzone. Late in the 4th, his skill set was on display further on a two point conversion. Here, he was able to stack the defender and break the defender off on a post corner route using a toe tap to secure the catch before falling out to give the Lions a 7 point lead with just over a minute to play in the game. This was essentially what sealed the game for the Lions giving them the playoff birth in 3A North Bracket. All in all, this is a shifty young man to keep an eye on as he has the ability to be a threat in both offensive attacks.
Mr. Nigro came up big in the second securing an interception. He did so by staying on the receiver’s hip pocket and went up for the 50/50 ball snatching the ball away from the receiver as they both had possession initially. Talk about making one heck of a play. This swung momentum back into the Lion’s favor which they used to get into the endzone for six. He also flashes his ability to work gap to gap in run support as well as he was lined up in the box for most of the night and when he did he showcased his ability to drive through tackles making sure he brought the ball carrier to the ground. On offense he does also work as a fullback where he can keep his feet driving through the whistle and gain a few yards after contact. Twitter
Drew Nigro
Drew Nigro
The younger brother of Dominic, this Mr. Nigro can work gap to gap and flows to the ball well making plays in run support both between the tackles and on the perimeter all night long. When doing so, he flashes his closing speed to limit chances of having the ball carrier turn the corner and instead secures open field tackles on the perimeter. What stands out the most is his use as a return man as he does a good job of finding an alley and can burst through for a solid return for his team. At times it seemed like he might break a long run but got tripped up when doing so. His threat as a return man is one to keep a close eye on as he has the ability to give his team good starting field position. Twitter
George Tchakanakis
George Tchakanakis
Mr. Tchakanakis is another new name to me this season and another threat that the Lions have in their offensive attack. Early in the third, this young man took a underneath route for six as he got vertical once he secured the catch and outran 2nd level defenders into the endzone. He almost came away with a second TD late in the fourth as he secured the crossing route and almost won the foot race before being brought down at the two yard line. This set up the game winning TD putting the Lions up by 7 with just over a minute left in the game. What I’m interested to see more out of this young man is in terms of his route running and what his full route tree looks like.
Honorable Mention
Tyler Anderson 23′ QB 6’1 155
Muhammad Hassan 23′ DL
