Now, as we know, the OAA Red is consistently one of the top leagues in Michigan and is the undisputed best league in the OAA. Made up of six Division 1 teams with 3 State-Championship contenders, I believe the OAA Red to be this year’s best league in the entire state. Here’s where we stand through six weeks!
Standings “()” = League Record
Clarkston 4-2 (3-1)
With a win against Adams and a loss against West Bloomfield, Clarkston finds itself on top of the OAA Red Standings. What a year it’s been for the Wolves, as they’ve proven me wrong and really outperformed expectations after a QB and Coaching change. Ethan Clark Ethan Clark 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Clarkston | 2023 State MI has been sensational this season, while Brody Kosin Brody Kosin 6'6" | 225 lbs | TE Clarkston | 2024 State MI ‘s recruitment has been blowing up, and I expect will continue to blow up after this season. This is a sensational team that can beat anyone.
Adams 5-1 (3-1)
With a loss against Clarkston but a win against West Bloomfield, Adams finds themselves in 2nd place in the Red. This team hasn’t skipped a beat since last season. Despite a loss against the Wolves, their 35-18 victory against West Bloomfield was an absolute statement. Parker Picot Parker Picot 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Rochester Adams | 2023 State MI continues to be the best Veer QB I’ve ever seen, while Brady Prieskorn Brady Prieskorn 6'6" | 230 lbs | TE Rochester Adams | 2024 State MI is a freak of nature with a massive amount of P5 offers. I would not be surprised to see this team at Ford Field again.
West Bloomfield 5-1 (3-1)
One of the most historically great MI teams, West Bloomfield has the expected talent and the expected win total. Semaj Morgan is easily the best receiver in the state, while Reqe Nance is a flashy, explosive QB when he wants to be. I’m looking forward to seeing the outcome of their Southfield A&T game in a few weeks. This team is another that can go to Ford Field.
Lake Orion 3-3 (2-2)
Lake Orion belongs in the Red, but there’s still a giant gap between the top 3 and bottom 3. This is the start of the bottom 3. Their games against North Farmington and Saline will be critical for their playoff hopes.
Stoney Creek 3-3 (1-3)
Always a physical team, Stoney Creek is doing fine, but they haven’t been successful against league opponents. Still, I strongly believe this is a playoff team. Let’s see if they end up making the postseason.
Oxford 1-5 (0-4)
It’s an unfortunate down season for Oxford. Their lone win is against a good Groves team, but other than that, they have not been competitive in the OAA Red.
