In the OAA, there’s plenty of talent to go around and is all-in-all one of the best conferences in the state, only rivaled by the MAC, KLAA, and OK. This article will outline who I beleive are 7 of the most impressive offensive players heading into the final two weeks of the regular season!
Ethan Clark Ethan Clark 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Clarkston | 2023 State MI – Clarkston RB
Clark took over as the Wolves all-time leading rusher at 4,138 career rushing yards. Last Friday, Clark rushed for 410 yards on 37 carries, an absolutely insane stat line. In general, Ethan Clark Ethan Clark 6'1" | 195 lbs | RB Clarkston | 2023 State MI is by far the best Running Back in the OAA, and will go down as one of the best to ever do it in Michigan. We all expected great things from Clark heading into the season, but he’s been surpassing my expectations.
Isaiah Marshall Isaiah Marshall 6'0" | 210 lbs | QB Southfield A&T | 2024 State MI – Southfield A&T QB
Marshall is my pick for player of the year thus far, and his performances have been nothing short of spectacular. Just 4 games into the season, Marshall had just under 2,000 all-purpose yards and 24 touchdowns. Again, through FOUR games! I am immencely excited to see what A&T can do in the postseason, as they have the tools to win a state championship.
Parker Picot Parker Picot 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Rochester Adams | 2023 State MI – Rochester Adams QB
Picot was one of my absolute favorite players last season, as I witnessed him lead Rochester Adams to Ford Field for the first time in 20 years. Though, with a large senior class, I wondered if Picot’s game would decline this season. Not in the slightest. Per usual, he’s been running like a maniac while making great veer reads. Check out this absolute beastmode run agaisnt Clarkston.
Avery Gach – Groves OL
A lot of the time it’s difficult for a offensive linemen to get headlines, but I’ve been seeing Gach’s name everywhere lately. With a new offer from Ohio State, Avery Gach is quickly becoming by far the most decorated Groves recruit I’ve ever seen. He’s extremely physically gifted standing at 6’5, 265 and he’s put in the necessary offseason work to dominate his sophmore season. His film is incredibly impressive, showing off pancake after pancake. I’m excited to see him face off against some great front 7’s like Seaholm.
Semaj Morgan – West Bloomfield WR
No suprise Morgan is on this list. A player held in extremely high regard and a candiate for Mr. Football, the Michigan commit has been putting up incredible highlights and he’s shown obvious, substancial improvement since last season. In addition to being a beast on offense, Morgan has been one of the best DBs in the state as well.
Colton Kinnie Colton Kinnie 6'2" | 225 lbs | QB Seaholm | 2024 State MI – Seaholm QB
There’s lots of praise to go around when it comes to Seaholm’s success, but Colton is the obvious choice for praise. After a 1-8 season last year Colton and many of his teammates took it upon themselves to put in extra offseason work. Coming into this season, I was optimistic but never expected Seaholm to be dominating the way they are. Colton is the face of the offense, and as a Veer QB, he’s tasked with a extremely challenging physical and mental challenge week in and week out. When Kinnie runs, he’s a bulldozer and I’ve seen players play different after they’ve attemped to tackle him a few times. In addition, he knows the Veer extremely well and makes great reads without turning the ball over. He also throws an accurate ball when he has to.
Jacob Kropchak Jacob Kropchak 6'5" | 305 lbs | OL Stoney Creek | 2024 State MI – Stoney Creek OL
Kropchak was a name I saw quite a bit throughout the offseason, and now that he’s had time to play in the OAA Red, I can happily say he’s played up to expectations. I’m curious to see if Kropchak’s recruitment will blow up like many others do after the season. For now, he has three great offers from UMass, Marshall, and Toledo.
