Each week I will breakdown and make predictions for seven games in Southern California.

I am 12-2 over the last two weeks.

Here is a look at what I think are the top games of the week:

CYPRESS VS. CREAN LUTHERAN

This game is for the Empire League championship. Crean Lutheran is having its best season in school-history. Gavin Rogers has been virtually mistake-free at quarterback this season and Santa Margarita transfer [player_tooltip player_id='384725' first='Ty' last='Benefield'] is an All-County candidate at receiver. Cypress is the perennial league champion. Aidan Houston is a quality dual threat quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='35436' first='Matthew' last='Morrell'] and [player_tooltip player_id='173344' first='Trevor' last='Monteleone'] are great athletes that cause matchup nightmares.

The pick: Cypress

SERRA VS. CHAMINADE

This game would have been for the Mission League championship if Serra hadn't had to forfeit its win over Notre Dame. Chaminade was undefeated but suffered a shocking blowout loss to Sierra Canyon last week. Eagles quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='145138' first='Javance' last='Tupouata-Johnson'] was held under 100 yards passing in that game. Besides a 72-yard run, [player_tooltip player_id='261749' first='Jaelon' last='Barbarin'] was held dormant. [player_tooltip player_id='147716' first='Cincere' last='Rhaney'] is a dominant running back for Serra and [player_tooltip player_id='190271' first='Rodrick' last='Pleasant'] is one of the best defensive backs in the state. Serra isn't as good up front as Sierra Canyon.

The pick: Chaminade

VENICE VS. PALISADES

Venice may be one of the best teams in the LA City Section. [player_tooltip player_id='145174' first='Paul' last='Kessler'] certainly is the best quarterback in the Section. [player_tooltip player_id='384901' first='Rashawn' last='Jackson'] is a real No. 1 receiver for Venice. Robert Lamar leads the team in rushing and in tackles on defense. Palisades has won four consecutive games. Roman La Scala has been heating up at quarterback and Christopher Washington is a playmaker. Palisades may be a little too young in this one.

The pick: Venice

GRANITE HILLS VS. HELIX

This is the Grossmont Hills League championship. Isaiah Jackson and Zak Darling can both run the ball well for Granite Hills. Easton Peterson has six interceptions for the Granite Hills defense. Helix has star power with [player_tooltip player_id='115450' first='Ryland' last='Jessee'] at quarterback and [player_tooltip player_id='1128224' first='Kevin' last='Allen'] III at running back. Quincy Herron is a top receiver in the area. This is a strength vs. strength matchup with the Helix offense and the Granite Hills defense.

The pick: Helix

OAKS CHRISTIAN VS. SAINT BONAVENTURE

Both teams are undefeated in Marmonte League play. [player_tooltip player_id='261713' first='Johnny' last='Thompson'] is a playmaker for Oaks Christian at running back with 13 touchdowns and around 90 yards per game. Nate Bennett is a nice junior quarterback who runs the offense well and can get in a groove sometimes. Saint Bonaventure has one of the top running backs in the state in [player_tooltip player_id='261716' first='Delon' last='Thompson']. [player_tooltip player_id='115460' first='Anthony' last='Wolter'] is capable of big games at quarterback. [player_tooltip player_id='25394' first='Joaquin' last='Johnson'] is a matchup nightmare at receiver. A lot of people consider Oaks Christian the favorite, but Saint Bonaventure is being disrespected for a defending champion.

The pick: Saint Bonaventure

MADISON VS. LINCOLN

One of the best things about football in San Diego is that it seems like all of the top teams play each other. Madison and Lincoln are both top four in the area. Madison quarterback Reggie Johnson makes very few mistakes at quarterback. Offensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id='25435' first='Jonah' last='Rodriguez'] just announced his commitment to San Diego State minutes ago. Lincoln has tested itself this season against top Southern Section competition like Saint Bonaventure. [player_tooltip player_id='145173' first='Roderick' last='Robinson II'] is committed to Georgia and is the best running back in the state. Lincoln's [player_tooltip player_id='25424' first='David' last='Peevy'] announced his commitment to USC today as well. If Madison can hold him under 150 yards, they can win this.

The pick: Lincoln

ORANGE LUTHERAN VS. JSERRA

JSerra may need to win this game in order to make the playoffs. If the Lions win, it will force a three-way tie for third place in the Trinity League with Orange Lutheran and Santa Margarita. [player_tooltip player_id='406721' first='George' last='Perez'] is a great running back for JSerra and [player_tooltip player_id='942928' first='Clarence' last='Chaney'] is physical at linebacker. This team is great on special teams and does not quit. Orange Lutheran may be without quarterback [player_tooltip player_id='282728' first='TJ' last='Lateef'] this week. This game means more to JSerra than it does to Orange Lutheran.

The pick: JSerra
