However, that doesn’t mean some names aren’t being overlooked. Today, I wanted to give some of those guys their credit as I looked at which senior pass rushers are flying under the radar. In my eyes, these guys could be absolute steals at different levels of college football. Keep an eye on their recruitment as we approach this winter.
DE: Joshua Pierce, 6’4″ 215, University Liggett
- Gets his hands up if he can’t get to the quarterback.
- Has hands like bricks at the point of attack.
- Pad level stays low against the run.
- Frame is long & lean, and I think he could easily add another 30-35 pounds at the next level.
DE: Broder Kawa, 6’5″ 220, Adams
- Hands are compact and quite violent.
- Is a disruptive force against the run.
- Has proven he can split zone double teams with his quickness.
OLB: Connor LeCourt, 6’3″ 200, John Glenn
- Speed gives opposing tackles problems when rushing off the edge.
- Effort and closing speed are impeccable.
- An explosive prospect who could be effective in both a three-down or four-down scheme.
LB: Tyler Harper, 6’1″ 195, Dakota
- An aggressive inside linebacker equipped with a very high motor.
- Delivers punishing blows on contact.
- His pure strength makes it tough for backs to block him in six-man protection.
- Not a true every-down pass rusher, but when he’s asked to do so, man, is he effective.
DE: Ahmad Taylor, 6’3″ 225, Bloomfield Hills
- Generates a ton of force from his lower half to create knockback.
- Chops pass protector’s arms if he catches them lunging.
- Retraces his steps as a rusher when the quarterback climbs the pocket.
DE: Peter Ulku, 6’2″ 225, Grosse Point South
- Lightning quick out of his stance.
- Instincts and effort are outstanding.
- Easily sheds interior offensive linemen in the run game using leverage and power.
OLB: Anthony Coleman Anthony Coleman 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Midland Dow | 2023 MI , 6’1″ 225, Dakota
- Tremendous production in 2021, totaling 13.5 sacks.
- Bullrush puts tackles on skates.
- Has a great first step, firing out of his stance like a missile.
- Toolbox features a nasty push-pull.
OLB: Nick Collins Nick Collins 6'2" | 190 lbs | K East Grand Rapids | 2023 MI , 6’2″ 200, East Grand Rapids
- Is a true playmaker on both sides of the ball.
- Has a knack for knocking down passes.
- Fluid when asked to drop into zone coverage.
- Has shown impressive body control when forced to come to balance and make tackles in space.
