Stats: 3 Catches | 149 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnAda opened up district play with a shutout victory over Sallisaw and the offense had no problems lighting up the scoreboard. In the win, senior athlete Andrew Hughes Andrew Hughes 6’3″ | 180 lbs | DB Ada | 2023 OK , who is a big key on offense and defense was incredibly efficient as a wide receiver. He finished the game with three catches for nearly 150 yards and all three catches went for touchdowns. He doubled his season total for receiving touchdowns and is now at six on the year. Ada is definitely a dark horse to watch this year in Class 4A and they have a big game coming up as they travel to face Hilldale in week five.
Stats: 21-31 | 427 Yards | 5 Touchdowns | 4 Rushing Touchdowns rnWhen you’re talking about a game that finished with nearly 120 combined points, you’re going to have some ridiculous individual stats coming out of it. Noble survived the shootout with Ardmore, winning 60-56. Noble senior quarterback Colin Fisher Colin Fisher 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Noble | 2023 State OK got the best of Ardmore’s gunslinger Cal Swanson Cal Swanson 6’2″ | 175 lbs | QB Ardmore | 2023 State OK and gets the nod here because of it. Fisher’s stat line is absolutely ridiculous. He threw for well over 400 yards and five touchdowns and as if that wasn’t enough, he also had four touchdowns on the ground. We maintain that Fisher is one of the best quarterbacks in the state’s 2023 class, although his college path is in baseball.
Stats: 21-26 | 246 Yards | 3 Touchdowns rnEdmond Memorial sophomore quarterback had a strong performance as the Bulldogs knocked off rival Edmond Santa Fe to become city champs for the first time in nearly a decade after beating Edmond North earlier this season. McComb threw for nearly 250 yards and three touchdowns in the win over Santa Fe as the Wolves remained winless on the season. Edmond Memorial has completely bounced back from their 0-2 start, winning their last three games. But they won’t return home until week ten against Mustang. The next four games are all on the road as the Bulldogs look to return to the playoffs.
Highlights
Stats: 18-22 | 397 Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnWe’re staying in Edmond and we’re staying with the another sophomore quarterback on the rise with Deer Creek quarterback Grady Adamson Grady Adamson 6’1″ | 215 lbs | QB Deer Creek | 2025 State OK . Before the season began, we heard that this kid was the real deal and he’s living up to the preseason hype and then some. He has the Antlers at 4-0 on the season and had a nearly perfect night in their win over Ponca City. He threw for just under 400 yards on the night and four touchdowns. That number four is important because he also only had four incompletions as he completed over 80 percent of his passes. This Antler team is hungry to make it back to the title game.
Highlights
Stats: 10-17 | 250 Yards | 6 Touchdowns rnWe stay with the 2025 quarterback theme but go to the east side of the state where Muskogee is 4-0 on the season and coming off an impressive 48-26 win over Sand Springs in week four. The Roughers were able to start fast and finish fast as they led 27-0 after the first quarter and would then score 21 unanswered points in the fourth quarter to pull away. Leading the way once again was sophomore quarterback Jamarian Ficklin Jamarian Ficklin 6’1″ | 180 lbs | QB Muskogee | 2025 State OK , who threw for 250 yards and six touchdowns while only completing ten passes on the night. Five of his six touchdowns went to different wide receivers. Ficklin is playing like one of the best in the state right now.
Stats: 14-20 | 148 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 8 Carries | 140 Yards | 2 Touchdowns rnWe have to tip our cap to Collinsville for absolutely reloading coming off that 5A championship a year ago. And senior quarterback Kaden Rush Kaden Rush 6’3″ | 200 lbs | QB Collinsville | 2023 State OK , who has replaced Andrew Carney has made sure the Cardinals would not take a step back this year. The Cardinals won their 18th game in a row with a 42-14 win over Pryor and Rush showed once again why he’s one of the top dual-threat QB’s in Class 5A. He threw for nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns and ran for nearly 150 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The highlight was when he ran a QB sneak from their own 1-yard line and it ended with a 99-yard touchdown.
Highlights
Stats: 3 Catches | 37 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 2 Punt Return Touchdowns rnBroken Arrow made quick work of their Thursday night game with Southmoore in week four. They absolutely rolled to a 63-7 victory on the road, giving the Tigers their first win of the season after a very tough non-district schedule. Broken Arrow had a very balanced attack on both sides of the ball but one player that stood out early was sophomore Kayleb Barnett Kayleb Barnett 5’10” | WR Broken Arrow | 2025 State OK . He caught a touchdown pass early in the first half and then had two punt returns for touchdowns. Barnett was able to showcase his legitimate track speed on the football field. When he gets into the open field, he’s going to be tough to catch.
Stats: 30 Carries | 253 Yards | 1 Touchdown | 1 Forced/Recovered Fumble rnWe’re losing count at this point how many times we have Muldrow senior standout Trenden Collins Trenden Collins 6’2″ | ATH Muldrow | 2023 State OK on this weekend list. He’s been on it several times already and had to get the nod once again as Muldrow improved to 5-0 on the season after a win over Checotah. Collins leads the state in rushing right now, which is insane considering he didn’t play the position prior to this season. In the week four win, Collins had one of his busiest nights as he finished with 30 carries and had just over 250 yards and a touchdown. He’s also an outstanding DB prospect and had an impact there as he forced and recovered a fumble.
Stats: 19-21 | 269 Yards | 4 Touchdowns rnIt was nearly a perfect night for Mustang senior quarterback Tristen Russell Tristen Russell 5’11” | 175 lbs | QB Mustang | 2023 State OK as they continued their dominance over rival Yukon, this time in the district opener for both teams. Russel threw for 269 yards and four touchdowns while only having two incompletions on the night. Russell is one of the more underrated quarterbacks in the state and he’s truly one of the best QB’s in Class 6A-1. The more we write that, the more we need to just move on and say he’s no longer underrated and he’s one of the best in 6A-1. There’s no doubt that he has great weapons around him but he’s an absolute gunslinger.
Highlights
Stats: 6 Catches | 186 Yards | 2 Touchdowns | 53 Rushing Yards rnLawton is quickly climbing the rankings in 6A-2 as they look to return to becoming a consistent state championship contender year in and year out. One of the big reasons they’re off to a 4-0 start has been the offensive duo of seniors Devarius Hardy Devarius Hardy 6’3″ | 180 lbs | QB Lawton | 2023 State OK and Tyron Amacker Tyron Amacker 6’0″ | 170 lbs | ATH Lawton | 2023 State OK . Both have put up monster numbers already this year and Amacker has been featured previously as a Top Performer and he’s back in that spot. In their recent win, he finished with nearly 200 yards and two touchdowns receiving and also added 53 yards on the ground as the Wolverines improved to 4-0 on the season.
