Continue ReadingFollowing week 6 of high school football throughout the state of Georgia, plenty of players have stepped up for their teams, putting them in situations to win big games, or change the momentum in games. This has come in the form of specialists as well, as some of the players we listed below have been some of the most productive, and consistent parts of their teams this year. Before we enter into week 7, we feel they are worth giving a look, as they will only continue to get better over time.
Jacob Ulrich- Mill Creek
Just as many people could expect, Ulrich has continued his stellar season, and has not missed a beat with his kicking. He has scored 42 total points this year, and has done so in the form of field goals, and PAT’s. He has an average of 8.4 points a game this year, and has made 24 PAT’s, and 6 field goals, only further proving his ability to be trusted by his coaching staff. Expect him to remain on top of this list, unless one of the next few players on this list has an unbelievable game, in which their team runs up the scoreboard.
Carlos Munoz- Parkview
Munoz, who is a kicker, and a punter for his team, can be viewed to be a well rounded specialist. After 5 games, he has a total of 38 points, and an average of 7.6 points a game. With this, he has hit 20 PAT’s, and has seen himself with 6 successful field goals kicked. This has made for a very successful special team’s contribution for the Parkview Panthers this year. Ultimately, this has been a huge factor in the team’s 4-1 record so far this year. Look for them to continue trending upwards in the next few weeks.
Gabe Caison- Camden County
After a 6 game stretch, Caison sits at third place on this list with an average of 6.3 yards a game, and 38 points. Largely, Caison has seen these points from 20 PAT’s, but he has also shown that he can do it all with his leg, as he has hit 6 field goals as well. Caison has kicked with good timing, accuracy, and follow through this year, and we would like to see him continue on this trajectory, as to keep his spot on this list by the time the season is over.
Ty Roldan- Kennesaw Mountain
In only 4 games, Roldan has found himself on this list, with an average of 8.8 points a game, and a total of 35 points this season. With this, he has managed to hit 17 PAT’s, and has seen himself make 6 field goals this season. If this isn’t an impressive 4 game showcase, we do not know what is. This high level of production proves he is versatile when making kicks from various parts of the field, and that he has plenty of leg talent and accuracy. Look for him to climb up this list before the season is over.
Jacob Russell- Carrollton
Just like Roldan, Russell has totaled 35 points this season. The only difference is that it has taken Russell 6 games to do so, and has done so with an average of 5.8 points a game. With this, Russell has also made 29 extra points, and just 2 field goals. Now, field goal points only come with opportunities given, but we would like to see Russell score on more field goal opportunities down the road if given the chance, and to be able to kick more consistently, and accurately.
