Week 5 against defending state champs Katy Paetow, Colin went 11 for 20, 176 yards passing, notching 3 touchdowns. This performance gave him a QB rating of 124.2. He shows great poise and decision making, while being able to stand tall in the pocket. Rarely do you ever see him get rattled or panic. Willetts can throw the deep ball and the quick pass for a short yardage gain, he allows for the offense to play in front of the chains the majority of the time. Colin can be deadly accurate when rolling out to the left or right and throwing on the move, even across his body. He has recently drawn interest on the recruiting front, I expect that to trend upward during the second half of the season.
Highlights
Last week, McKinney Boyd took on cross town rival McKinney. Turner recorded 9 tackles, 5 solo tackles, and allowed zero competitions on his side of the field. His speed allows him to provide great run support on the outside. A truly physical defensive back that has no issues shedding blocks and making the stop. On one play, you can see his high awareness on display, where he is left alone on the outside, he does a great job at staying home and reading the play allowing him to make the tackle. In the second district game, Turner earned Player of the Week which was well deserved. The first half of his season has not disappointed. I think we can expect his recruitment to take off in the very near future.
Highlights
Jacob Gonzales
Jacob Gonzales
In a week 5 exciting game against Warren High School, Jacob out on a show. Totaling 181 rushing yards on 18 carries, with 3 touchdowns. He also wracked up 111 receiving yards and 135 kick return yards. This gave him 427 all-purpose yards on the night. Gonzales is a shifty runner with great vision finding open running lanes. A fantastic outside runner with the capability to get downhill if needed. Really quick out of the backfield and has great acceleration once he bounces outside, which makes it tough to bring him down at first contact.
Izayah Manchester
Izayah Manchester
Week 5 against Warren, Manchester had 6 receptions with 101 receiving yards, 1 touchdown. His longest receptions was 28 yards on a very acrobatic catch, his body control and great ball tracking were on display. Izayah is a really twitchy and disciplined route runner, with plenty of speed to compliment. Runs every route as if he is getting the ball and keeps the defenses guessing. Has no problem fighting for extra yards on the quick routes. Manchester currently holds one offer from East Central University, I think we can expect that to change after this performance and as the season continues.
Nick Clark
Nick Clark
Week 5 in a thrilling win over Frisco Centennial, Clark went 49 yards on 15 carries with 1 touchdown. He is one of the few hard nose downhill runners that will hit the hole and make room. His excellent acceleration out of the backfield allows for this. His physicality makes him very beneficial in the passing game with how well he blocks and picks up the blitz. Clark is just a sophomore with the starting running back duties, which he handles very well. He can also be relied on to catch a swing route or a screen pass out of the backfield and get up field for decent yardage gains. Has a huge upside and I anticipate him flourishing as his high school career continues.
