I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Ocean is ranked as a top 15 linebacker for a reason. He showcased his talents week 2 for Chief Sealth HS. Freeman showed great anticipation in both the pass and run game. He stayed patient waiting for the quarterback to make a move before attacking towards the ball. His technique while tackling is excellent, providing many big clean hits, even forcing a fumble on the night He finished the night with 6 tackles, one of those being a sack on the quarterback.
Highlights
Dylan Way
Dylan Way
Dylan has had a great start to the year for this junior season. During his week 2 game against Auburn HS, he didn’t slow down. He has a high IQ on the field, being able to sense what the offense may be doing next, even reading the quarterback for an easy interception. He was played with patience making sure to wrap up the ball carrier when tackling them. He showed fantastic speed when going for the tackle, closing in really fast to the ball. His open field tackling this season has been as good as anyone in the state.
**Kyree attends Auburn-Riverside HS**
Kyree might be my favorite class of 2025 linebackers I’ve watched so far this season. Wright plays with a TON of energy, you can tell just off watching a few of his highlights. He has the tools to be a top linebacker in the state over the next couple years, as he’s only a sophomore currently. Week 2 against North Creek, he was involved in many tackles, helping his teammates drag down the ball carrier. His vision on the field is above average, being able to see where the ball is almost every play. His relentlessness isn’t going away, so I expect him to continue having a great year for Auburn-Riverside HS.
Wyatt Bartroff
Wyatt Bartroff
Wyatt plays the middle linebacker position for Ridgefield HS, which is arguably one of the most important positions on the field. Wyatt does a fantastic job at leading his defense. While watching his film, Bartroff’s anticipation when attacking the ball carrier is phenomenal. He hits hard and effectively just like every good linebacker. Throughout the night he used his speed to burst through the offensive line and other blocks. He finished his week 2 game against Mountain View HS with 8 tackles. It’ll be fun to watch Wyatt keep progressing as the year goes on.
Calvin Kehrli
Calvin Kehrli
Calvin is known already for being 1st team all KingCo linebacker now, he’s looking to grow off his dominant junior season last year. He’s done just that through 2 weeks of football. Week 2 against Jackson HS, Kehrli finished the game with 7 tackles, 1 interception, and even scored a touchdown receiving on offense. The senior hits HARD, completing many big hits by driving the opposing players into the ground frequently. He runs down hill well, getting to the ball carrier faster than most linebackers. He’s poised for another 1st team KingCo selection if he keeps playing like this on the field.
