There are MANY other defensive lineman who could be put on this list. I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Dallas is one of the top defensive lineman in the entire state. His talents were on full display week 2 for Rainier Beach HS. The senior raked up 3 sacks on the night, being a nightmare for the quarterback all night. He’s got great anticipation and reads the offense quickly, knowing if it’s a run or pass play almost instantly. He’s strong, throwing the offensive lineman to the side easily. He held his own on the offensive side as well, creating holes for the running backs.
Highlights
Julian just might be the best defensive lineman in the whole state. He was everywhere week 2 for North Thurston. Standing at 6’5″, he stands out on the field. His speed at his size is outstanding, he can stay with the quarterback with no problem and track him down. He doesn’t stop his pursuit until he gets his hands on the ball carrier. He compiled 6 tackles to go along with 3 sacks on the quarterback. He’ll continue to be a matchup nightmare for opposing teams.
Jackson Miller
Jackson Miller
Jackson is a force on the defensive side of the ball. The junior has great size being 6’3″ weighing 225. He was no match for East Jefferson HS’s offensive line during their week 2 game. Jackson was in the backfield often, compiling 3 tackles for loss and 2 quarterback sacks. He wasn’t done getting involved there, as he also had 6 solo tackles on the night. He showed great speed and timing off the line, he’s a name to keep an eye on throughout this and next year.
Efren might be the best class of 2024 defensive lineman in the state. He was able to keep his feet moving, driving the offensive lineman into their own quarterback many times. He does a great job during run plays, being able to contain the running back when he runs to his side before he is able to get to the next level of the defense. He was named all league defensive end for a reason and might just be on his way to that title once again. This junior will be exciting to watch this year and next.
Highlights
Here’s a name you might not have heard yet this season, but this junior needs to be on your radar. Jones is new to Kalama HS, coming over from New Jersey. Week 2 against Castle Rock HS, Dylan was ALL over the place. He racked up 16 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks, and recovered a fumble. He stands at 6’2″ 205 pounds and is able to line up as a linebacker or on the defensive line. He’s fast off the line and gives all of his energy on the field. Jones is a name who people will start to learn as the year goes on and he comes back next year for his senior year.
