I am listing the players who’s stat line stood out, who people recommended but most importantly, ONLY players who either I watched live or was able to watch highlights from their specific game. For the best chance to be featured, send me your weekly film on twitter. My handle is “@DevinRecord”, please don’t have any hard feelings if you weren’t included.
Kyle Maniktoth
Kyle Maniktoth
Kyle was excellent playing the CB position all night long. He shut down his half of the field completely, looking good all night long. He showed great ability at closing in on the ball when he was being targeted. His speed when closing in at the opposing team’s ball handler was impressive, showing off his open field tackling as well throughout the night. His footwork and hip movement to stay with the receiver he was guarding was in mid-season from during his week 1 game. He finished the game without allowing a single pass, breaking up 2 passes himself, and contributed 3 tackles on the night.
**Nahmier has transferred to Skyline HS**
Nahmier had as big of a game as anyone in the state. He provided BOTH scores for his teams big 15-0 win. He provided the offense for the team while playing on the defensive side. He was lock down all night, rarely allowing any passes to get by him. Both of his pick 6’s were BEAUTIFULLY. The first one, coming in the first quarter was off a tipped pass where Robinson snagged it off the tip and ran roughly 30 yards for the score. The second one came in the second quarter, off an overthrown ball by the QB that landed right in Nahmier’s hands. He was able to show off his speed, by out running everyone for roughly an 80 yard pick 6. He’s a top safety in the state, in my eyes.
Wyatt was EVERYWHERE on the field week 1 against Emerald-Ridge. He might be the most versatile defensive player in the whole state. He can line up at LB, Safety, or even the nickel corner position. His tackling is as good as it gets in the state of WA and he showed that. During week 1, Gordon compiled 18 total tackles, 5 of them for loss, 2 of those being sacks on the QB. His anticipation catches my eye every time I watch film on him, he always strike at the perfect time. Like I mentioned, he’s a very good tackler, maybe the best open field tackler in the state. Gordon hits HARD but most importantly, he tackles CORRECTLY which is why his hits seems so big and impactful. He’ll continue to be a name to watch weekly for big games.
Brady Beaner
Brady Beaner
Brady is definitely one of the most athletic 2025 players in the state, and not many people know about him. Mainly because Anacortes HS football has been trending down but with a new coach and a new environment around the program, they are on the come up and ready to surprise people. Brady week 1 stood out with 12 tackles, 2 of those for loss. He showed off his ball hawk ability by pulling down 2 interceptions. He wasn’t done there, he also forced a fumble defensively too. He’s electric on the defensive side of the ball and showed great anticipation. Beaner is going to have a breakout year, and will grow off of it going into next year.
Alexander Quintanilla
Alexander Quintanilla
Alexander got the job done on both sides of the ball during week 1. Offensively, he finished with 151 all purpose yards and showed off his speed many times. Defensively, he was a stud as well. He complied 8 solo tackles, 2 of them being for loss. His ability to break on the ball was impressive, being able to contain the ball handler quickly if they caught the pass in front of him. He finished his tackles all the way through, making solid contact all night long. He does a little bit of everything for Bellarmine Prep, so he might end up on a different list, any different week.
