Stephen Broderick
Stephen Broderick is a senior back that is new to the site. Broderick has had quite the beginning to the year, coming off a 3-score night that saw him accumulate just under 250 total yards. He’s part of an Upper Moreland offense that I would like to see up close and personal sometime this Fall. Broderick provides the offense with production as a back as well as a pass-catcher. He’s a smooth transitioner, working well between the trenches, yet hitting a different gear when in the second level. An open-field playmaker, expect Broderick to put up numbers like this weekly.
Joey Hello
Joey Hello
Another new senior to the site. Welcome Joey Hello, a senior back, and linebacker out of Trinity Area High School. Hello ran for 178 yards and a score this past weekend, yet the stat line hardly does his performance justice. Hello put out a performance that should impress college coaches in the area. He looked great running between the tackles and making the most out of his runs, yet his ability to block, chase down ball carriers, and make plays on special teams impresses me more than anything. This is a prospect who will leave an imprint on every game he plays for Trinity, he’s more than just a stat line. Excited to see more.
Chris Cibrone
Chris Cibrone
Chris Cibrone, a junior quarterback out of Peters Township, had himself an afternoon against a team I’m fond of in Seneca Valley. Cibrone surpassed the 300-yard mark while throwing for at least 3 scores from what his tape could show. Cibrone put together some quality reps, some worthy to be in his seasonal highlight tape at the end of the year. Cibrone flashed improvisational skills, escaping the pocket and delivering accurate balls to feed his weapons. Cibrone was also poised and accurate in the redzone, throwing catchable balls that limited bad outcomes. Love to see his work in this area. Cibrone wasn’t afraid to attack downfield either, hitting corners and streaks on time. Excited to see more.
Julian Sparacino
Julian Sparacino
Kennett’s Julian Sparacino put himself squarely on my radar with a 2-score night against Oxford. 160 rushing yards, tack on another 20 through the air, Sparacino ate against a defense that seemingly took his abilities lightly. Sparacino is a bit unassuming at running back, yet the young man has some wiggle to his game and will surprise with his overall athleticism. Sparacino practically hurdled a kid in this one, while also making well-angled defenders miss in the open field. Sparacino also provided valuable reps on defense and special teams. If and when I see Kennett in person, I’ll be sure to keep my eye on this kid.
Mahkai Robinson
Mahkai Robinson
Thanks to the coaching staff at MLK, we may have uncovered yet another diamond in the rough in Philly. Mahkai Robinson, the only underclassman on the list, has all the potential in the world to garner future D1 interest. He’s already doing just that. Mahkai contributes at all levels at MLK, dropping jaws as a kick returner, while also getting reps at running back, wide receiver, and defensive back. You don’t see underclassmen playing this often or providing this much value early on. Thing is, he hasn’t even unlocked his true potential. Love what I see from a playmaker perspective. The kid is twitchy out of his stance, and smart too, showing he has an understanding of how to set up his blocks, when to speed up or throttle down, etc. There’s a lot to like in his first-three game tape.
Cole Spears
Cole Spears
We are enamored with many at Mt. Carmel, yet hardly show love to the junior manning the offense. Cole Spears makes an appearance, his first on the site. Spears does a good job distributing the ball to his various weapons, yet will catch unknowing defenses off-guard with his real ability to make use of his legs. I haven’t seen enough tape to deem Spears a true quarterback prospect, yet I can say he might be the glue that holds this offense together. Spears has had a great start to the year, I have a feeling he’s only getting started. Watch for huge games out of this kid moving forward.
