#TN HS Football: Week Four Top Matchups

We have made it to Week Four of high school football here in Tennessee & boy do we have some big time matchups this week!!     1. Alcoa (3-0) at Maryville (3-0)   - All eyes from across the state will be watching this game as you have two rivals and probably the two best football programs from the greater East Tennessee region going head to head in what is really a state title caliber game played in Week Four. These two teams know each other very well, so there won't be many surprises when we kick off Friday night and I fully expect this game to go into the 4th quarter without anything settled. Watch out for the quarterback battle between [player_tooltip player_id='102276' first='Zach' last='Lunsford'] and [player_tooltip player_id='309098' first='Matthew' last='Clemmer'] as key factors towards either squad coming out with the victory.    Key Matchup: Rebels four four on Def. vs. [player_tooltip player_id='102358' first='Lance' last='Williams'], [player_tooltip player_id='102257' first='Tyler' last='Jeffries'] & the Alcoa O-line      2. CPA (2-1) at MBA (3-0)   - Week four kicks off tonight with this monster matchup between two Nashville area private schools that both have championship aspirations. The Lions bounced back last week after losing in Week Two while the Big Red are coming off a huge win over reigning state champ McCallie. Both of these teams have high scoring offenses while being well balanced on defense, so something must give. This game should be entertaining and a battle till the very end.    Key Matchup: Lions defense (secondary in particular) against [player_tooltip player_id='102308' first='Marcel' last='Reed'] & the Big Red passing attack   <figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/redzone/uploads/2022/08/claw.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-420691" /></figure>     3. Greeneville (3-0) at Morristown-West (3-0)   - This is a big game for the home Trojans as they sit undefeated against one of the best teams from the Class 4A ranks in Greeneville, who is a definite state title contender and undefeated in their own right. Morristown-West sports a top level prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='150477' first='Tison' last='Johnson'] while the Green Devils have a loaded senior class, led by [player_tooltip player_id='102209' first='Adjatay' last='Dabbs'] and [player_tooltip player_id='102269' first='Mason' last='Laws']. Excitement will be in abundance for this game but can the home Trojans handle their emotions and find a way to pull off the upset? We shall see!    Key Matchup: Trojans secondary vs. Dabbs & the Green Devils receivers     4. Pope Prep (3-0) at Independence (2-1)   - Another Thursday night matchup to wet your appetite is this one between the undefeated road Knights against a talented home Eagles team that is coming off a big win over region foe Centennial. Pope Prep is led by Pitt commit [player_tooltip player_id='150305' first='Kenny' last='Minchey'] and behind his arm, the Knights offense has been lethal thus far, so it will be a challenge for the Eagles defense as they try to slow this D2-Class AAA power. If they can keep the Knights to minimal points, Indy might have a shot to pull off the upset.    Key Matchup: Eagles secondary vs. Minchey, [player_tooltip player_id='150318' first='Colin' last='Cook'], [player_tooltip player_id='337227' first='Josh' last='Mailander'] & the Knights passing attack     5. Fayetteville (3-0) at Upperman (3-0)   - Out of all the big classification matchups this week, these two teams may provide one of the best games of all as you have two undefeated, state title contenders looking to see how good they really are against one another. Both these teams lean heavily on the run game, so whoever is able to slow down the other could have the leg up towards winning this game. Oakland (3-0) at Ravenwood (2-1)   - The machine that is the Patriots football program continues to roll on but this Friday they have a tough road matchup against a talented Ravenwood team that will be looking to shock the state with a victory. It will be hard for the home Raptors to defeat Oakland but they have a dynamic quarterback in [player_tooltip player_id='60841' first='Chris' last='Parson'] that can create a lot of problems. The Patriots defense will be up for the challenge but it could be a tough night to come up with the road win.    Key Matchup: Oakland's front seven vs. Parson & the Raptors O-line      7. Franklin-Grace (3-0) at Friendship Christian (3-0)   - Can Friendship keep their dream season going in the right direction? This game against the road Lions will dictate just that as this might be the biggest game of the season for both squads. Whoever wins this game will take the reigns of the D2-Class A ranks and be seen as the top contender to win the state title. The home Commanders need big games from Garrett Weekly and stud athlete [player_tooltip player_id='149160' first='Brock' last='Montgomery'] if they are to overtake this sneaky good Franklin-Grace team.    Key Matchup: Commanders passing attack against & underwhelming Lions secondary      8. Brentwood Academy (2-1) at Whitehaven (2-1)   - The schedule didn't do any favors for the home Tigers as they are coming off a tough loss last week to Germantown and must turn around and compete against one of the best teams from the D2-Class AAA ranks in these Eagles. The biggest challenge for Whitehaven will be their push up front against a big and talented Eagles offensive line. If the Tigers can get after the quarterback and disrupt the BA offense, then the home might have a shot at pulling this one out.    Key Matchup: Whitehaven's front seven vs. the BA O-line & rushing attack     9. Giles Co. (2-1) at Franklin Co. (3-0)   - A sneaky strong game from the greater Middle Tennessee region, the traveling Bobcats must face off against a talented Rebels offense in what could be one of the best games of Week Four. Giles Co. comes in as a formidable opponent that plays physical and knows how to win while the home Rebels are ultra athletic at the skill position and present a lot of challenges for the Bobcats defense. Munford (3-0) at Dyersburg (2-1)   - It's been a great start to the 2022 campaign for Munford but they must hit the road this weekend against a tough Trojans team for them to maintain their dream season. Many will favor the Cougars in this game but you can't sleep on Dyersburg as they have consistently won a lot of games over the past several years and will certainly be keyed up for this contest. Munford could also continue to roll and dominate yet again, so this end result here will be interesting to see.    Key Matchup: The Trojans defensive front seven against [player_tooltip player_id='119168' first='Braxton' last='Sharp'] & the Cougars rushing attack       Other Top Games of Note   - McMinn Co.
