Grand Rapids Union and Godwin Heights will play each other for the first time tonight in what should be a highly entertaining game featuring two potent offenses. Both teams are coming off opening week blowouts which saw their offenses combine for 104 points. Let’s take a look at the players to watch, the keys to the game, and my prediction.
Players To Watch
Tommy Stevens

, QB, Grand Rapids Union 22”
Tommy is one of the most electric players in the OK Conference and has cemented himself as a key driving force in the rebuilding of this Grand Rapids Union program. He makes plays with his feet and improvises as well as anyone at this level. Expect Stevens to spread the field and take his chances early and often.
Christopher Murray-Ware, KR/WR/DB, Grand Rapids Union 24”
Christopher Murray-Ware is one of Unions’ weapons they deploy in all facets of the game. A week ago, the sophomore had a kick returned for a touchdown. Keying in on Murray-Ware will be one of Godwin’s keys to the game.
Elijah Taylor, RB, Grand Rapids Union 22”
Elijah is the go-to running back for Grand Rapids Union and

righthand man in the Redhawk backfield. Elijah got off to a hot start with a number of scores against Ottawa Hills a week ago. Elijah is also a dependable defender in the Redhawk secondary.
Jamarion Collins, QB, Godwin Heights 23”
Jamarion is coming off a huge performance in week one where he put up five touchdowns in the Wolverine’s 44-6 thrashing of Muskegon Heights. The junior quarterback, like Stevens, is a dual-threat weapon who can extend plays on the run. Watch for Jamarion to try to match Stevens’ level of play in order for Godwin to stay unbeaten.
Keys To The Game
Godwin Heights is coming off a blowout win from a week ago, however, they’ll have their work cut out for them going against the much larger Grand Rapids Union. In order for the Wolverines to pull off the upset, Godwin will have to come up with a few turnovers on the defensive end and hope that Jamrion Collins can keep pace with Tommy Stevens Tommy Stevens 5'8" | 175 lbs | QB Grand Rapids Union | 2023 MI , offensively.
