2023
Coming into the season, Williams was considered one of the best EDGE prospects in Georgia. Through the first half of games, he has flashed his consistency and has been a key member of a loaded Buford defense. Williams flashes tons of explosiveness and quickness on film. As a pass rusher, he is relentless and showcases some quick reflexes. Williams flies to the ball and can get in the backfield in a hurry. I expect him to carry over some momentum from a good start to the season and continue to impress.
Buchanan has quietly been one of the more productive EDGE rushers in the state, averaging nearly 8 tackles a game. At 6’6 230, he has great size and showcases the ability to move as well. He is a relentless pass rusher that plays a violent brand of football. He has incredibly strong arms which allow him to toss blockers and ball carriers around. Playing alongside Ezra Odinjor Ezra Odinjor 6’3″ | 220 lbs | DL Allatoona | 2023 State GA , one of the state leaders in sacks, will certainly free up opportunities for Buchanan. I expect him to have a big second half as Allatoona will be playing with some urgency.
Johnson has had a storied career as a signal caller at Westlake. While the first half of the season was not necessarily up to his standards, he has improved each week and is set up for a big second half. Johnson plays with plenty of command and poise, not to mention he has shown in the past that he can throw the ball with pinpoint accuracy. It’s only a matter of time before he starts to perform at the level we expect of him. Westlake has a strong running game, so that should free up some opportunities for Johnson to make a difference down the stretch.
2024
Baly is considered one of the best DBs in Georgia, but has still been operating somewhat under the radar this season. Meadowcreek sits at 4-1, and Baly sits at 20 total tackles on the year. Still, I expect him to play at an even higher level to close out the year. Baly has great length and is a physical DB. Those two traits alone are why he has many college programs after him. As he continues to settle in, I would expect him to continue to make plays.
Bodiford is in the middle of his first season with Walton, and he has helped create one of the most explosive offenses in the state this season. He has run the ball exceptionally well, as expected. Still, I believe he shows tons of promise as a receiver and is something that we will see come along in the final stretch of the season. Bodiford has great size, and still has another season to develop. I expect Bodiford to start rising up recruiting boards soon, and I think his versatility will be on full display during the second half of the season.
It was a roller coaster first half for Milton, but the second half of their schedule sets up nicely and they could make a strong run at a playoff birth. Gatling has been productive this year, but there is reason to believe his best football is ahead of him. He is a big, explosive receiver target that has received national attention for his playmaking ability. Milton will try and get him the ball, and I think they are set up to do so to close out the season.
2025
Creekview got off to a rough 0-3 start, but a sudden burst of momentum has them sitting at 3-3 and firmly in the playoff picture after a 2-0 start to region play. Austin Guest Austin Guest 5’11” | 185 lbs | QB Creekview | 2025 State GA took the reigns at QB this season and got off to a slow start. Since then, he has validated the hype he had coming into the season and gets better each week. Guest has a big arm and can make throws on the move, but his legs are where he makes a huge impact. On the season, he has compiled over 1000 yards of offense. Similar production and Creekview could be dangerous as they close out the season.
