Buck is one of the top offensive lineman across the Sacramento region and dominated the line of scrimmage on Friday night which will most likely be the case most weeks. He is a mauler in the trenches with a heavy punch, good leg drive and finish while able to block in space and pull to the second level and has shown that he moves well for his size with good feet and is a natural bender.
ATH Dwight Martin, Oak Ridge HS
Martin had a great week 1 showing against CO last Friday night and snagged two interceptions while tacking on another two touchdowns. He is a very active third level player that is not afraid to drop down into the box and make plays on the perimeter while showing natural instincts and good ball skills when breaking to ball carriers. Running the ball, he is physical and sees the field well through the first level while running through contact and showing a nice burst through the second level.
RB Arthur Draeger, Liberty Ranch HS
Draeger is one of the top rushers in the section and is in line to have a monster Senior season and should draw D-III+ interest through the Fall and into the Winter. He is a very versatile and explosive runner that shows good vision, a nice initial burst and runs tough behind his pads while packing a punch, especially for his size. He erupted for six touchdowns on only five carries while tacking on 140+ yards in Liberty Ranches big win over Bret Harte High School.
QB Jojo McCray, Grant HS
McCray had a very nice off-season and impressed at multiple events he attended while showing off his arm talent and ability to throw a nice deep ball and athleticism outside of the pocket. Leading what is an absolutely loaded Grant squad this season, this will not be the last week he goes off. He had four touchdowns in the second half alone in their win over a tough McQueen team and showed some of his athleticism outside the pocket as well.
QB Anthony Mahaffey, El Dorado HS
Mahaffey had a very impressive debut for the Cougars passing for over 200 yards and 4 touchdowns. He is a true pocket passer with a strong presence when feeling pressure and has a strong arm downfield, while able to throw into tight windows and air it out downfield with nice touch over the top. On intermediate throws, he puts good zip on the ball and moves through his progressions while standing tall in the pocket and not afraid to take a shot in order to deliver it downfield.
