Last Season Recap:
Bedford started off the year with a big 54-0 win over Henry Ford. They won their next 2 games against Ann Arbor Pioneer and Dexter to move to 3-0. They lost to Ann Arbor Huron in week 4 by 1 point. They proceeded to win 4 out of their next 5 games to finish regular season 7-2 and get to the playoffs. They lost a hard fought game in the first round of the playoffs to Livonia Franklin.
Head Coach: John Phillips is the head coach for Temperance Bedford. Phillips has been very successful and has led Bedford to the playoffs multiple times.
Key Players to Watch
Trey Bruggemann | LB | Senior | Hudl
Bruggemann is a tackling machine and is always flying all over the field. He has great tackling technique and does a great job of wrapping up low. Bruggemann is so skilled that he makes playing the position look easy. Opposing teams are really going to need to think twice about running the ball his direction.
Caleb Kochendoerfer | QB/FS | Senior |
Kochendoerfer did a great job at safety last year for Bedford. He is a good athlete and can make plays on the football. Kochendoerfer got reps at quarterback as well last year and will likely get a shot at being the starter.
Thomas Huss | TE/DE | Senior | Hudl
Huss has great size at 6-3, 205 lbs. He has the quickness and speed to get off the line of scrimmage and get open over the middle of the field. I love his competitive toughness at defensive end. He is a guy who will relentlessly pursue ball carriers. He can rush the passer very effectively and has strength to win against nearly any tight end or running back he goes up against.
Luke Davis | DB | Senior | Hudl
Davis has very fluid hips at the cornerback position. He has great recovery speed and does a great job of turning his head so he can read and locate the football. Davis is a guy that you can trust on an island against nearly every receiver he goes against. I expect another good season from him this year and look forward to watching him cover some of the top receivers in the conference.
Final Analysis: Bedford plays a tough conference schedule in the SEC-Red. They return many key players as I mentioned and they are well coached and always play a physical tough brand of football. Bedford has been a team that consistently made the playoffs the last few years. I do expect them to get back to the playoffs this season.
