Veal has the potential to be a star on both sides of the ball for the raw talent that he possesses. Veal shows a high ceiling on the defensive side of the ball, with his great tackles and ability to bring down ball carriers. He can get to a carrier and manages to take them down just about any way that he can. One quality about Veal that no one can ever say about him is a lack of work ethic. Veal shows that he has a high motor and grit whenever he is on the field, showing high energy and talent when trying to get stopped. As a running back, he is a freight train who is hard to stop in the open field and anyone who comes in his way is going to have a hard time bringing him down. Veal has the framework for an all-around talented player who has the pieces and abilities to put it together, it will be exciting to see how much he can improve upon in the upcoming seasons.
Lucas Flemmer DRSM High School, RB/FB
Flemmer is a versatile back who can just about anything for your offense, and his talent is ever present there. Flemmer shows flashes of brilliance when as a tailback, seeming to juke out anyone who gets in his way and using crafty moves to outsmart them instead of using the brute force of overpowering. Flemmer excels truly as a pass-catching back, making a mini wideout with his hands and the talent that he possesses. He works well with quarterbacks, not to mention his pass blocking skills that can make him a great utility asset when it comes to the pass game. Flemmer can run off for big yardage gains, no matter if that is for a big run who can break away for massive yards and getting open in the field for a deep pass. Flemmer will be receiving more snaps and getting involved on more plays, hopefully we can see his numbers improve with his massive amounts of talent.
Tennyson Case – Wolsey-Wessington High School, DB/QB
Case while being a Senior, will be a focal point for his team this year on both sides of the ball. Case fits best as a bruising and traveling defense back who hits and makes stops for his team. Case moves around the field at a lightning pace, he can get to receivers and ball carriers to make stops that few other people can do at his rate. While he is not an interception machine, he does force fumbles like a linebacker. Case can knock you and the ball around, to make the offenses life not enjoyable and stifle any production before it can start. As a quarterback, case is a mobile gunslinger who makes deep throws and evades rushers in the pocket. He can link up with his receivers for some deep passes with astounding accuracy. Case should be a player who you should keep on a list of players to have a monster year, on both sides of the ball.
Tayshawn Battese – Lower Brule High School, C/DT
Battese is a warrior in the trenches and does not like to share it with anyone else, no matter the side of the ball that he is on. On the offensive line, Battese can play just about anywhere but slots into the position of center well. He can shift around to do just about anything else, he is a great run blocker on the interior for his great use of hands to jam defenders without holding and is not afraid to pancake rushers in his way. Battese is not easily overpowered by rushers off the edge, he can put them on the ground fast and make sure his quarterback is well protected at all times. On defense, he can play as a dominant defensive frontman who can move around and use his size to get around anyone trying to stop him. While he may not get the quarterback all the time, what he does do is wear down lineman and make sure it is difficult for them to stop him at all. Battese having such a high ceiling on both sides of the ball makes his presence invaluable to what he does to help his team, and he should keep on pace to do this at an even higher level.
