With these 5 teams, the Quarterback position serves as the face of the team and is a vital component of their success. This article will serve as a preview of what we can expect from the QBs of the Gold.
Sunny was a good, but still flawed Varsity QB last season having some bright moments and some hiccups. Last season was very foundational for Sunny, as the Bears went 6-3 and narrowly lost against Waterford Mott in the postseason (Sunny played 6 games).
After what looks to be a very productive offseason, I hope Sunny comes back with polish and poise. Footwork could be improved, as well as throw power.
If Sunny takes a jump, the team will take a jump, and on paper, that should win them the OAA Gold. With the talent the Bears have, they have the potential to make a run, but they’ll go as far as Sunny allows them to.

Tyler is a true competitor and I hope his game comes together this year. Last year, playing both JV and Varsity, Tyler played under his brother, Jake. On paper, the QB play for Avondale over the years has been solid, but nothing stellar. In order for them to win the Gold, Tyler Herzog Tyler Herzog 6’0″ | 170 lbs | QB Avondale | 2024 State MI needs to perform well. I’m a tad worried that I haven’t seen much offseason activity from Tyler, but we’ll just have to see where the cards fall.
Highlights
Hudson Sidle
Hudson Sidle
I’m generally impressed by Sidle’s tape, as he’s a developing QB with a ton of bright spots.rnHudson has displayed many great off-balance throws during play action, and he isn’t afraid to throw it into tight spots, which is a good and bad thing.rnThis is a team that has some talent, but needs to put it together after a 1 earned win season. If Hudson becomes more fundamentally polished, limits mistakes, and gets the ball out faster, Royal Oak has more than a fighting chance.
Da’Veon Hall
Da’Veon Hall
Seeing a bit of tape from him last year, I hope Da’Veon Hall plays QB this season and I hope he’s able to lead Pontiac to a win. This Southpaw QB is another that’s not afraid to take risks and he has potential with his athleticism. Making good reads and getting the ball out in a smart, deliberate manner is key for Hall.
