Continue ReadingJoseph showed some well-put-together point A to point B burst in the Indy reps I got to watch from him at the Northern State Prospect Camp. I have watched Joseph at our Prep Redzone Minnesota showcases, and watching this young man improve on his instinctive toward the ball has been impressive to watch grow in the last eight months. His motor for his 6’4 250, pound frame showed off big at the Wolves prospect camp, as Joseph has an excellent work ethic. His hands show a consistent pad-level and a quick trigger of leverage to drive his defender into the turf. He has added around 30 pounds since the season ended and still has kept that finesse we like from a growth perspective. Does an excellent job of attacking the side hip to get his momentous posture churning forward. Joseph is certainly a prospect that utilizes those feisty hands until that whistle blows, which any college program would love to see at the next level.
Blake showed off a ton of athletic ability from the limited amount of reps I got to watch him at the Northern State prospect camp. He showed off a 9’1 broad jump and, in Indy reps, showed a plethora of athleticism coming out of his stance. He also showed a good explosion, and I wish I had watched more reps of his skill set. His tape shows a go-getter’s ability to provide a cushion on the next field level to assure the second contact. Blake is a three-level prospect with sound footwork in open space and sideline-to-sideline finished speed that can flip the field with his solid strides in the return game. He may be only 160 pounds, but I love Blake’s durability on first contact from the running back spot, as he doesn’t just show shifty feet; he shows instinctive vision identifying the contact early, which speaks volumes of his football IQ. He has a few offers at the NAIA and one D2 offer, and I think he’s due for more at that level when we look ahead into the fall season.
Deegan Houska
Deegan Houska
Deegan showed a tremendous change of direction from the multiple reps I watched in Aberdeen at the Northern State prospect camp. He also showed a smooth demeanor in his reps we watched in 1v1s and Indy drills, as his robust stance showed a lot of upside for that change of direction we mentioned above. Deegan’s junior tape showed some developing skillsets that stuck out. He has a knack for physicality in his ball-tracing ability, especially on deeper routes. He has development brewing in his footwork to make that change of direction even quicker from a speed perspective, but his crossover speed to get to the ball in run schemes makes his release turn more eyes when it comes to the next level with that growth coming. Another promising secondary prospect for the Pierre Govs that I believe is due for more college football attention in my eyes.
Ronnie Begalka
Ronnie Begalka
Ronnie was another defensive lineman that impressed me with his stable yet nimble footwork at the Northern State prospect camp. He showed off some finessive movements when churning towards the football that has even more development in the tank going into his senior season for the Deuel Cardinals. Ronnie showed good activity with his hands to get off his sheds with good speed on tape. I also believe college programs will love the length of this young man at 6’3, 200 pounds with plenty of size they can add to college strength program I also like his quick moves when he pulls off the offensive linemen with his strength. I expect a booming senior season for Ronnie with getting him some attention to play football on Saturdays.
Devin Woosley
Devin Woosley
Devin was certainly not the biggest defensive line at the Northern State prospect camp, but man I loved this kid’s toughness he played with from start to finish in Wolves Country. He showed some fiery hands in his arsenal and could pull off the linemen he went up against at a stronger rate than you would expect with his measurables. I like this young man’s motor on tape, as although he has good speed, he gets several pressures to force bad throws on a few QBs he went up against coming off the edge and in other spots inside the trenches. His speed was encouraging from my first look at this young man, as he showed decisive ability with that speed and change of direction of direction. Devin certainly was a gritty player at the Northern State camp and would be a great developmental prospect at the NAIA level to grow his size and technique.
Martin Dorsett
Martin Dorsett
Martin was another undersized prospect that showed some upside for his age at the Northern State prospect camp. He showed a noticeable burst thru his progressions in the early testing sessions and, for his 5’6 frame, showed a lot longer strides than some might expect. Martin still has quite a bit of raw ability that is left to be seen, as there is not much tape out on him yet but keep your eyes peeled on this young man’s future because there is some upside in the making.
Kickers and Punters were in a limited amount at the Wolves prospect camp, but we got our eyes on all of them, including our #2 ranked kicker in the 2023 class, Aberdeen Roncalli’s Jackson Isakson Jackson Isakson K Aberdeen Roncalli | 2023 State . What impressed us about Jackson? Any time a prospect shows up at a prospect camp and wants to play multiple positions, it’s an added plus as an evaluator but watching this young man get his reps at quarterback and kicker, it struck an even stronger chord with me, as it shows off a versatility instinct that typically will go unnoticed, but not from my eyes. Jackson showed off a cannon of a leg and didn’t just carry a long leg; he showed consistent hangtime in all of his reps I got to watch. I was informed that Jackson was invited to the Kohl’s National Camp, which is very impressive to add to his resume as well. He showed a growing touch when throwing the football in 1v1s, especially on short and intermediate routes I got to watch. He has some development into his senior season on his precision passing in a quick setting; however, the upside on this kid’s college football future is indeed rising as a specialist from what my eyes can see, and my ears have heard throughout the summer.
Dominek Rohleder
Dominek Rohleder
Dominek was another prospect on the ole defensive line that opened up a can of you know what when it came down to his physicality in the trenches at the Northern State prospect camp. I thought Dominek showed some of the most active hands amongst defensive linemen at the camp a few weeks ago, as he was a persistent fighter and won a handful of reps with how his hands were placed and just how substantial they were. He also showed an eager motor when getting into the backfield, as his bull-rushing ability showed great density in his strikes. His tape shows a practical stance, and he has a considerable first step of attack to wreak havoc once he presses into the backfield with his knock-back tackling ability. Dominek’s ability to travel from near sideline to sideline also shows off an effective game-time gear that churns the ignition even more robust on Friday nights in Wahoo, Nebraska. There are no offers yet for Dominek, and that surprises me, especially from all levels, as this young man has the tools and size to play on Saturdays.
