Muskegon vs. De La Salle. The Big Reds vs. The Pilots. The Best in the West vs. The Best in the East. This is the best matchup in the SE side of Michigan, and it’s not even close. Today I’ll be outlining some of the best players on both teams, and I’ll discuss what each team needs to do to win.
Muskegon
I’m extremely interested to watch this game and see how M’khi Guy M’khi Guy 5’7″ | 165 lbs | ATH Muskegon | 2024 State MI does. I still haven’t seen much film of him, but I know he’s the starter and I’ve heard time and time again how he’s a game-changer and an extremely versatile QB, perfect for the Muskegon offense.
For Muskegon to win, Guy needs to perform extremely well.
Highlights
Amaryion Glover
Amaryion Glover
A versatile WR/DB, Glover will have to play well in order to match the skillset of the De La Salle offense. His tape shows a relentless style with lighting-quick feet and an overall well-rounded game. I’m looking forward to evaluate his performance against some of the best.
A mauler on a very good offensive line, Miguel Botello Miguel Botello 6’4″ | 300 lbs | OL Muskegon | 2024 State MI ‘s performance is going to mean a lot to this game, and this game is going to mean a lot for his recruitment.
He’s dominated just about everyone he’s come across this year and last year, as he thrived as a Sophomore in 2021. Playing agaisnt an incredible front 7, Botello and the whole Muskegon O-Line are going to have their hands full. But if Miguel dominates like he usually does, I’m confident Muskegon will be able to run their offense however they want.

De La Salle
No surprises here. If Drogosh balls out, De La Salle wins this game.
The Cinci commit burst onto the scene last season, especially after an incredible state championship performance. Although I’m confident in his abilities, Muskegon has a very experienced coaching staff that will do everything in their power to confuse and make life difficult for Drogosh. In fact, we just saw Dante Moore Dante Moore 6’2″ | 210 lbs | QB Detroit King | 2023 State MI with a uncharacteristic 2 INT performance last week.
Highlights
Mason Muragin Mason Muragin 6’4″ | 245 lbs | DL De La Salle | 2023 State MI is about to face off against one of, if not the best all-around offensive line in Michigan.
The Illinois commit balled out last season, and I was extremely impressed by what I saw him do against a very good TCC Tackle in the State Championship last season.
He’s the most complete Defensive Lineman I’ve watched, as he has a unique arsenal of power and finesse moves, and is generally unpredictable. If he can make an early impact with some TFL’s, look out.
Highlights
One of the most important transfers from this offseason, Ryan Ross Ryan Ross 6’3″ | 310 lbs | OL De La Salle Collegiate | 2024 State MI will be expected to perform well against a disciplined defensive line.
Being the O-Line MVP from the Prep Redzone Michigan Prospect Showcase back in April, I know he has incredibly impressive technique. Ross has one of the most important jobs on the field and I’m confident he’ll perform well, especially when you have a QB who’s great at getting the ball out in a timely manner.

Deciding Factor: Coaching
Call it boring, but I firmly believe the team with the better coaching will come out on top. These are two programs with top-tier, proven coaching, and they’ll both come in with well-planned game plans. Both teams know how to exploit weaknesses, and both teams know their strengths and play to them.
It will come down to which staff correctly game-planned and which staff can respond better on the fly.
