Tauanuu is one of the fastest rising OL recruits in the state this offseason since pulling in his first offer from UMass in mid May. The 6’6” 270 lb. offensive tackle out of Huntington Beach possesses an impressive combination of technical ability, athleticism, and length. Flashes excellent quickness and natural movement skills/bend coming out of his stance. He fires out quick to gain positional leverage allowing him to generate power through his lower half and initiate contact. Great feet to match movement and move laterally to sustain his block. Good efficient use of his hands, he snaps them into position and uses them to control or latch on to his opponent. Does a great job using them to counter moves in his pass set. Uses athleticism to quickly kick slide and get in position in pass pro. Total offer count is 10 with programs such as Washington State, Oregon State, San Diego State, and Fresno.
Finau has shown excellent year over year improvement and it has shown in his performance at camps/showcases this offseason and in his recruiting. Since June he’s collected five power 5 offers bringing his total to nine including programs such as Oregon, Washington, and Arizona State. At 6’5” 260 lbs. he’s a mobile finisher with a huge upside as he continues to develop mature. He flashes plus natural strength with a good wide base at the POA but is always under control and in balance through contact. Really brings his feet and hips to overpower opponents. Flashes good mobility and foot speed executing different blocks in space and working to second level defenders. A high IQ offensive lineman that is patient and can counter opponents moves with good instincts and technique. Massive upside for the power 5 level with his well-rounded skillset and size.
Recruitment is building for Glanz out of Eastlake HS in Chula Vista collecting eight D1 offers this spring/summer from Nevada, Washington, Colorado State, SDSU, UCLA, Washington State, Colorado, and most recently Oregon State. He possesses a massive frame with ideal length at 6’7” 285 lbs. He’s an aggressive blocker that is tough and can win one on one battles while finishing with tenacity. He’s more of a mauler style blocker that is able to move defenders once engaged and overpower them with his size and natural strength at the contact point. Shows he can accelerate his feet on contact or post up/anchor down to sit and stop an oncoming rush. Functional athleticism and feet show in his ability to pull, trap, and work to the second level. Good foundational skillset and size to build on with room and upside to develop at the college level.
Schroller is an interesting prospect at 6’7” 275 lbs. Didn’t play his first year of football until his freshman season but has good size, strength, and natural ability with an 82” inch wingspan. A plus athlete that flashes good bend, feet, and movement skills. He fires off the ball with good initial quickness and a fast first step to take good angles into his blocks and establish positional leverage. Shows quick and active hands with good placement and extension to deliver a powerful initial punch. Like his balance at the contact point and ability to block in space. High ceiling guy who’s recruitment is just in the beginning stages with an offer from San Diego State in May but expect him to climb rankings and recruiting boards nationwide as he’s able to showcase his skillset. Dad also played OL at UCLA.
