Velling’s recruiting has been quiet, but he checks a lot of boxes as a quality college level prospect with his combination of size, length, and speed. At 6’2” 175 lbs. he’s one of the top track athletes in the region being crowned metro champion of the 110M hurdles and the 4X100M relay team. His speed makes him a lethal vertical threat that can quickly break a DB’s cushion and slip by deep coverage. Shows good natural athleticism and body control as he tracks the ball into his hands and tucks it away. Like his leaping ability and how he uses his length to gain leverage at the catch point to come down with 50/50 balls. Strong genes, older brother Jack was a highly rated TE recruit in the 2022 class and ultimately signed with Oregon State.
Walker is an impressive three sport athlete (football, basketball, track) with length at 6’3” 190 lbs. Throughout the offseason he’s performed well at college camps/showcases and continues to add weight without sacrificing his speed and agility. He’s a very smart and instinctual player on both sides of the ball but at receiver it allows him to find/create space and use his large frame to box out defenders and attack the ball at the high point. He’s a strong hand catcher of the football that’s confident and proves he can catch in traffic. Had a breakout sophomore season after transferring in from Montana and would expect him be a big part of the West Valley offense again while continuing on the same trajectory. Strong lineage of college football players in his family.
Witherspoon is pure speed with dynamic athleticism and playmaking ability. Possesses a versatile skillset that can transition well to both sides of the ball at the college level. Flashes exceptional fluidity, short area burst, and change of direction as a route runner to quickly gain separation and make himself a target. Shows the ability to attack the defense at all three levels and use his top end speed and explosiveness to be a threat to score every time he touches the ball. He’s quick twitch with a great drive phase into his route and the ability to get in/out of his breaks with speed and efficiency. He’s one of the top sprinters in the region breaking the 1A district 100M record with a 10.72 as a sophomore. Recently picked up his first offer from Arizona State but is just scratching the surface of his talent and ability. One to watch going into his junior year with his recruiting stock on the rise.
Sloman had a breakout sophomore campaign when he racked up 42 catches for over 800 yards and 15 touchdowns while being voted first team all-league WR and second team all-league DB. At 6’0” 170 lbs. he’s got a lot of great tools to build on as he continues to develop. He’s an advanced route runner for a rising junior that understands positional leverage and how to sell his routes using stems/nods while being creative in how he separates from coverage. He’s smooth in/out of his breaks and shows good acceleration coming out of his cuts. Excellent ball skills and catch radius, shows he can extend beyond his framework and come down with highly difficult contested receptions. Continuously sells out to make high level acrobatic catches in all areas of the field. Good playmaking ability after the catch using his speed and agility to be elusive in the open field. Deserves to be more highly recruited.
Repenn is a plus route runner with a long frame and good growth potential at 6’2” 185 lbs. He flashes good short area quickness, lateral agility, and burst to breakoff at the top of his routes and the long speed to stretch the field vertically. He’s a natural pass catcher that shows a good ability to track and adjust to ball flight in the air. Plus body control and coordination to attack the ball at the high point. Explosive with the ball in his hands, he can take short passes for long gains or take fly sweeps and hit the edge with downhill speed. Kage had a good year as a sophomore being voted all-league but has great upside/potential and is primed for a breakout junior year. Expect his recruiting attention to pick up as well the more he’s able to showcase his skillset and ability.
