In 2022 the Prep should be a top contender as standout 5 star S/WR “ Joenel Aguero Joenel Aguero 5'11" | 190 lbs | DB St. John's Prep | 2023 State NewE ” will be sure to lead them. He is currently ranked as a Top prospect by Prep Redzone New England. Receiver Jesse Ofurie Jesse Ofurie 6'2" | 200 lbs | WR St. John's Prep | 2023 State NewE , also returns and is one of the top receivers in Massachusetts/New England. This program rebuilds on yearly basis and will always compete with the best in the state.
2021 Season Results: The 2021 St. Johns Prep team was a very hard team to evaluate with some consistency lacking. In 2021, the team beat Marshfield, Central Catholic, and Wachusett. However, the Prep also lost to St. John’s (S), CM, Xaverian, and Central Catholic.
Toughest Losses to Graduation: Jackson Delaney (WR) = Brown; James Guy (RB) = Bentley; Dylan Wodarski (LB) = Univ of New England; Dylan Roberts (DL) = Bates; Matt Mitchell (DB) = Union; Ryan Grenier (DB) = Union, Jack Perry (QB) = Bates; Jake Cuddire (OL) = Univ of New Hampshire
PLAYERS TO WATCH:
“Aguero Needs no introduction as he is on the National Radar. Transfering back from IMG Academy, he will now join his former team. He plays controlled, but very violent on contact. He’s a very explosive athlete, and he’s a very violent tackler within the framework of the game and the rules. He’s a very good tackler. That pops on tape. He’s been doing that since he was 14, 15-years old his freshman year. He’s a guy that seeks out the contact. When it happens, when he gets there, it just flashes. Recently committed to Georgia.
“Ofurie” is such a very obvious athletic freak. Checks many boxes such as having great hands and catching ability, play speed and tempo, toughness and competitiveness, ability to separate, dependability, and playmaking ability. Projected D1 athlete who has recently committed to Rutgers.
Has a smooth release from the LOS and a quick step into his break on routs. He can find the lane after the catch to take it to the house. Has shown he can high top the ball with elite jumping abilities. He recently finished 2nd overall in the State Div 1 Triple Jump competition. Earned a Div 1 offer fro Merrimack College this summer.
