Small School Recruiting Report

<p>Laguna Hills class of 2023 quarterback <strong>[player_tooltip player_id=’387670’ first=’Kaden’ last=’Austin’]</strong> picked up two offers this past week from Puget Sound and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.</p>   <p>Austin is a 6-foot-5 lefty who threw for 964 yards and 10 touchdowns last season with just two interceptions. He is lengthy but can be a dual threat guy who ran for four touchdowns as a junior.</p>   <p>He works with local quarterback coach Dan Selway who is the offensive coordinator at Capo Valley High. An opposing coach gave Austin good reviews after facing Laguna Hills in a passing league event recently.</p>   <p>The two schools are the first offers for Austin.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/KadenAustin7/status/1547627808595226635?s=20&t=FQ9_Xchy5lHBlZM0cSJBKA </div></figure>   <p>La Habra class of 2023 offensive lineman <strong>Bradley Bartling</strong> picked up an offer from Carleton College on Monday.</p>   <p>Bartling is a really good pass blocker who La Habra uses in different ways. When he is covered he does a good job with his initial punch and quick feet. When he is uncovered, he is helping the guards and does a good job picking up blitzes from multiple angles. His pad level and strength could improve but it appears that he is working on that this offseason.</p>   <p>He also has offers from Pacific University and Rhodes College. He went on unofficial visits to Saint Anselm, Hillsdale College and MIT in March and went to a junior day at Pomona-Pitzer.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/BradBartling23/status/1549253152209137664?s=20&t=FQ9_Xchy5lHBlZM0cSJBKA </div></figure>   <p>San Clemente class of 2023 kicker and punter <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="343530" first="Shane" last="Hill"]</strong> is scheduled to visit Black Hills State this coming weekend.</p>   <p>Hill is a four-star kicker who trains with former NFL kicker John Carney who won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints.</p>   <p>Black Hills State has not officially offered Hill, but I saw them at the San Clemente showcase in May and they were very interested in multiple San Clemente players. They have been very active in recruiting Orange County athletes in general so it is possible for Hill to earn an offer on this trip.</p>   <p>Hill has an offer from Carthage College.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/shanehill1018/status/1548909839224410112?s=20&t=FQ9_Xchy5lHBlZM0cSJBKA </div></figure>   <p>Orange Lutheran defensive back <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="384870" first="Manaia" last="Ala"]</strong> was offered by Culver-Stockton College last Saturday.</p>   <p>He had 65 tackles and four interceptions as a junior for Orange Lutheran last season. I like him best as a safety who patrols a lot of the field in zone coverage.
