Five Awesome 2023 Wide Receivers

With 15 WR in the class of 2023 rankings (including 5 in the top 31) it is easy to see that there is a lot of talent at the WR position. Here are five excellent WR from the class of 2023 to keep an eye on this fall. In 2021, he helped the Springfield Wildcats to a 13 win season, average 29.2 points per game and advance the Division I State Championship game. He plays as a slot WR as well as a ZWR. He displays excellent athleticism and play speed while running routes making it very difficult for athletic CB to cover. He is able to adjust his body to the ball and shows very good hands as he is able to catch the ball with his hands away from his body. Demonstrates good competitive toughness as he shows the ability to consistently make plays in the red zone. In 2021, his outstanding play was a bright spot in the 2-7 season of the Hamilton Big Blue. He plays both outside WR positions as well as in the slot. He exhibits good play speed to get behind the CB on go routes. He tracks the ball well in the air and possesses good hands as he easily makes the catch with his hands for a big first down. He shows very good play speed as he stretches the defense vertically. He does an outstanding job of tracking the ball in the air before making an impressive over the shoulder catch. Once the catch is made, he displays outstanding acceleration as he gains significant yards after the catch en route to scoring a touchdown. He is also a very good run blocker as he shows good hand use and play strength as he drives the CB several yards creating a lane for the RB. He is a good route runner as he shows good hip fluidity as he breaks off his stem and shows good hands as he makes the catch. He does a good job of keeping his feet in bounds when making the catch on out routes by the sidelines. He is an excellent blocker who displays excellent play strength and physical toughness as he pancakes DB with ease when blocking on screens and on running plays allowing the ball carrier to pick up significant yardage. He exhibits good football intelligence as he reads the coverage (man vs zone), shows good play speed as he gets behind the DB on vertical routes, does an excellent job of tracking the ball over his shoulder before making a nice catch.
