These prospects were standouts on the gridiron in 2021, but have yet to see their recruitment take off. Keep an eye on them this fall because if they prove that they can consistently produce year over year those offers should come. This is a talented group of wide-outs, and I do believe a few could be steals for various college programs across the country. With all that being said, here are my top 2023 wide receiver sleepers in all of Colorado.
Keyshawn Dooley, 5’8″ 165, Vista Ridge
- Exceptional burst off the snap.
- A double move artist that can spin defensive backs like a top.
- Is a YAC machine in space.
Domenic Leone, 6’3″ 175, Fossil Ridge
- A crafty route runner that knows how to set up a defender.
- Undervalued shake with the football.
- Uses his long frame as a weapon to shield defenders away from the football.
Kade Jones, 6’3″ 175, Alamosa
- Attacks a corner’s blind spot.
- Is a confident hands catcher.
- Shows another gear coming out of his breaks.
- Build-up speed gives corners and safeties major issues.
Chase Nelson, 5’7″ 145, Douglas County
- Explodes out of subtle cuts.
- Consistently high points the football.
- Has the wiggle to make defenders look silly in the open field.
Ron Gallegos III, 5’9″ 150, Kennedy
- Speed release causes corners to not get hands-on in press.
- Is a major vertical threat, accounting for a plethora of 50-yard plus touchdowns.
- Knows how to create separation on the go ball.
Drew Martinez, 6’3″ 175, Arvada West
- Routinely finds his way behind zone or man coverage.
- Is a natural deep ball tracker.
- Effort as a blocker is off the charts.
KC Fackerell, 5’11″ 180, Palmer Ridge
- Outstanding contact balance.
- Has the power to surge past arm tackles.
- Plays a physical brand of football, uncommon for the position.
Brian Dykstra, 5’11″ 160, Northglenn
- Extremely high production on the go ball.
- Fearless running through the middle of the field.
- Competitive at the top of his route.
Trek Keyworth, 6’2″ 175, Fossil Ridge
- Uses his hands as a weapon when being jammed.
- Shows a massive catch radius.
- Contested catches seem to be no issue.
Tucker Peterson, 6’2″ 175, Roosevelt
- Put up ridiculous numbers over the last two years totaling 2,042 yards & 41 touchdowns.
- Makes acrobatic catches look easy.
- Changes route tempo to lull corners to sleep.
