As they look to take their sophomore season snaps underway in the coming months, we’ve seen a number of stock risers across all positions. Without further ado, let’s dive into Part 5 of our Stock Risers.
Talyn Taylor Talyn Taylor 6'0" | 165 lbs | WR Geneva | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Taylor can work out of the slot and on the outside as a Z receiver, both of which he can utilize his elusiveness by making the first defender miss in open space before he either breaks a long run for a big gain or breaks it for six. This young man can play above the rim coming down with contested catches on deep shots downfield and can win over the top with his quickness off the line of scrimmage. His dad played in the NFL as well and this young man is stepping in the right direction. Overall, a straight playmaker that is going to make his mark this upcoming season. Most recently picked up an offer from Michigan State University and The University of Wisconsin.
Keyonte Farrow Keyonte Farrow 6'2" | 195 lbs | DL Rock Island | 2025 IL Twitter
Mr. Farrow can work as a 3 tech and a 1 tech on the defensive line, but finds more success as a 3 tech. Here, he can slip blocks in run support getting into the B gap to disrupt plays in the backfield. He does this throughout his highlights and makes sure he gets involved in each play even if the play is going away from him. This is where he’ll take pursuit angles to secure the tackle downfield. If he isn’t able to slip the block, he is able to disengage the block at the line of scrimmage to meet the ball carrier in the hole for no gain on the play. Keep an eye on how he produces this upcoming season, could very well see his stock rise as a result.
Dinos Drossos Twitter Highlights
Mr. Drossos is a receiving tight end that can be split out wide to create mismatches against the opposing defenders. Go watch his first clip and you’ll see the potential that this young man has. In this clip, he not only is quick off the line gaining outside release but he also is able to win over the top to secure the contested catch (over not one, not two, but three defenders) for the touchdown. This young man has been on my radar for some time now before he even took his first high school snaps. He has the potential to very well become a Top prospect in the State of IL when it’s all said and done.
Patrick Heneghan Patrick Heneghan 5'11" | 200 lbs | QB New Trier | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Heneghan does a good job working in his 3 step drops and driving off his back foot when delivering deep shots downfield. Here, he’s able to make level 3 throws along the sideline putting the ball just within his receiver’s reach only where they can secure the catch. I’m very interested to see how this develops over the course of his high school career and heading into this upcoming season. Let’s not forget about his mobility and foot quicks either. Once he finds an alley he can gain a step on the second-level defenders to get along the sideline and break a long run for six.
Troy Velez Troy Velez 5'10" | 180 lbs | RB Geneva | 2025 State IL Twitter
Mr. Velez can very well develop into a good downhill style runner that can consistently get you 4 to 5 yards per carry as he can currently do so at the JV level. This is something I’m interested to see translate over to the Varsity level. The glimpses he showcases of his vision, running style, and foot quicks are all one to keep an eye on. He can use his vision to find the running lanes between the tackles and can find cutback lanes as well if the frontside lanes are clogged up. Overall, I’m very interested to see how he produces this upcoming season and how much of his potential comes to light.
