The Pre-Season all state team is put together based on how each individual athlete is projected to do this coming fall, along with team success which plays heavily into the selection process. Have a look at the 6A defense.
DEFENSE
1ST TEAM
DL [player_tooltip player_id="226949" first="Teitum" last="Tuioti"] 23’ Sheldon - Probably the state’s #1 recruit now with the transfer of [player_tooltip player_id="104685" first="Riley" last="Williams"] to IMG. Tuioti made the move from Nebraska and is a problem coming off the edge. He has the potential of being one of the most recruited kids in the country at his position.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="205818" first="Noah" last="Staley"] 23’ Jesuit - Staley plays out of position projecting as more of a LB but his overall physicality as a junior and 1st team all-Metro honors put him in the conversation among the best defenders in the state.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="147240" first="Richie" last="Anderson"] 23’ Tualatin- Anderson played a vital role in the T Wolves run last season. He will be called upon to lead and should thrive after all the big game experience from last season.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="205815" first="Tiger" last="Black"] 23’ Roseburg-Overall maybe the best defensive player in the state. He will be 6A POY candidate after earning SWC POY honors last season. He could be a sleeper collegiately.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="152335" first="Liam" last="Cassidy"] 24’ Jesuit- The 6-5 300-pound underclassmen filled holes nicely last year earning 1st team all-Metro accolades. UNLV was the first to offer. We will most likely see Cassidy against top competition late in the playoffs which will be telling.
DL [player_tooltip player_id="168252" first="Oliver" last="Fisher"] 23’ Sherwood-Fisher had a nice junior year earning 1st team all-conference honors defensively. He’s a talented TE so hopefully his cardio is in check as he will rarely leave the field.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="206771" first="Will" last="Wilson"] 23’ Tualatin- One of the fastest rising prospects in the region. Look for him to compete with Ingle for TRL defensive POY honors. If not for injury he would have racked up numerous similar accolades last year.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="147247" first="Earl" last="Ingle"] 23’ West Linn- The reigning conference POY will also be a leading candidate for state POY honors. Ingle looks to have put on some good size, and he will be able to focus on D as the projected #1 team in the state.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="152337" first="Wiley" last="Donnerberg"] 24’ West Linn- Donnerberg can play 3-4 positions on D, projecting as more of a WLB while also being a standout in the secondary. His 7 pass deflections complimented his 20 total tackles and 3 tackles for loss last season.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="152332" first="Ethan" last="Biondine"] 24’ Lakeridge- Statistically he was one of the most impressive kids in the state last year, making 88 total tackles with 14.5 tackles for loss, while playing out of position at the D end spot. Expect him to have an unreal junior campaign.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="270070" first="Calvin" last="Macy"] 23’ Lake Oswego- Macy has had one of the best off seasons of any athlete in Oregon, adding multiple D1 offers. He earned 1st team all league honors as a junior and will be called upon to lead this fall, as the Lakers graduate a talented group.
LB [player_tooltip player_id="110183" first="Jayden" last="Moses"] 23’ Grant- I expect Moses to be the best player in the PIL by a lot. He earned all conference honors as a freshman and brings a ton of experience to the table.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="110179" first="Drew" last="Rodriguez"] 23’ Sprague- Rodriguez just continues to impress adding multiple D1 offers. There wasn’t much he didn’t do as a junior earning 1st team all conference honors on both sides of the football, while returning numerous picks and kicks for TDs. He has been a standout on the camp circuit all off season.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="110180" first="Mark" last="Hamper"] 23’ West Linn- Definitely one of the most versatile athletes in the NW. He finished tied for 2nd in Oregon in INTs last year with 5, to go along with 5 pass deflections and 42 total tackles. He could be the POY on both sides of the ball.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="206761" first="Andrew" last="Walker"] 23’ South Medford- Walker has the potential to be the best player to come out of South since Chase Cota. The state’s fastest athlete will be the X factor if they are going to win in the SWC.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="152355" first="AJ" last="Noland"] 24’ Tualatin- The 3* Junior is just a really good athlete. He had an outstanding sophomore season earning 2nd team all-conference honors. He could potentially lead the TRL in INTs and be a viable POY candidate.
DB Timmy Mitchell Jr. 24’ Central Catholic- In two years Mitchell has already done a lot, winning a state title and being the named the MVP of the Les Schwab Bowl as a freshman. Expect him to have a 1st team all-state season.
DB [player_tooltip player_id="152334" first="Jace" last="Burton"] 24’ Jesuit- As a sophomore Jace earned 1st team all-Metro honors and also impressed on O from his slot position. Expect him to be one of the most talked about athletes state wide this season.

DL [player_tooltip player_id="152360" first="Gabe" last="Staszak"] 24’ South Medford
