Enjoy! As the month of June comes to an end this week, we wrap up all of our prospect rankings with an update of the 2023 class. All of the updates began with a new Top 50 in the 2025 Rankings and the 2024 class followed and you can check out that 2024 Top 75 Right Here! Finally, we look at the upcoming senior class as we turn our attention to the 2023 class, which has become incredibly deep. Our latest update features the Top 175 prospects in the 2023 class. You can check out that complete Top 175 Right Here! In this post, we continue our positional breakdowns with a look at the line of scrimmage and specifically with the defensive line position. There is a great blend of defensive ends and defensive tackles in this year's class and we break down some of the top guys at the position. [player_tooltip player_id="112479" first="Chance" last="Jordan"] - Beggs (Ranked #9 Overall - #1 DL) Beggs defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="112479" first="Chance" last="Jordan"] is coming off a junior season in which he earned All State 1st Team honors and was one of the more dominant players we covered in person last season. Jordan is a one-man wrecking crew and it makes absolutely no sense to us why his recruitment hasn't exploded this offseason. He reminds us so much of former Vian standout Solomon Wright, who signed at the P5 level out of Vian just a few years ago. Jordan is compact, quick and powerful. He requires a double team unless you want him in your backfield and wrecking your running game or disrupting the passing game. He's the top DL in the class for a reason. [player_tooltip player_id="57157" first="Jaedon" last="Foreman"] - Del City (Ranked #10 Overall - #2 DL) The first time we saw Del City defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="57157" first="Jaedon" last="Foreman"] in person was following his freshman season. He looked like he had just wrapped up his freshman year in college and did not look like a young high school prospect. Not much has changed since then other than Foreman becoming an even bigger pass-rush threat while coming off the end for Del City. As the Eagles transition down to Class 5A this fall, they immediately become a contender and with Foreman leading the way on defense, not many teams will score much this fall. Foreman has been committed to Oklahoma State for a while now as the Cowboys continue to rake in the top defensive ends out of Oklahoma. [player_tooltip player_id="57208" first="De'Marion" last="Thomas"] - Union (Ranked #18 Overall - #3 DL) Another P5 prospect along the defensive line is Union defensive tackle [player_tooltip player_id="57208" first="De'Marion" last="Thomas"]. Less than a month ago, Thomas announced his commitment to Vanderbilt. He was recruited by plenty of programs but is looking forward to playing in the SEC. Thomas is an absolute load up front. He's very similar to Jordan at Beggs where he's at his best on the interior of the line and he commands double teams or he's going to overpower opponents in a 1 on 1 situation. Thomas is also getting quicker and faster every time we see him, which is terrifying to think about. As Thomas adds more quickness and speed to go along with his strength, he's going to be a problem. [player_tooltip player_id="287377" first="Taje" last="McCoy"] - Putnam City (Ranked #22 Overall - #4 DL) Another in-state defensive end that Oklahoma State is going after is [player_tooltip player_id="287377" first="Taje" last="McCoy"] out of Putnam City. The PCO product had a strong junior season and that momentum has definitely continued into the offseason. McCoy was offered by Oklahoma State and his recruitment has taken off from there. We really like what the Pirates are building as they go into year two under head coach Carter Whitson. McCoy is a big part of that as the Pirates bring back some talent around him on the defensive side of the ball. Putnam City could definitely be a dark horse to watch this season and McCoy will definitely be one of the top players to watch for PCO. [player_tooltip player_id="38781" first="Parker" last="Andrews"] - Norman North (Ranked #37 Overall - #5 DL) Norman North defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="38781" first="Parker" last="Andrews"] had a fantastic junior season a year ago and that was so good to see after he was returning from an injury that had limited him coming into the year. Andrews was a wrecking ball up front and was so tough to stay in front of when he went up against bigger offensive tackles. One thing that we liked about Andrews and his game was his constant moving around the line. He never allowed the opposing line to know where he was going to be lining up and where he would be attacking from. Because of that, he was hard to game plan for and on a Friday night, he was very tough to stop. [player_tooltip player_id="57160" first="Evan" last="Keefe"] - Hilldale (Ranked #43 Overall - #6 DL) Another 2023 prospect we've been sold on since he was just a freshman is Hilldale lineman [player_tooltip player_id="57160" first="Evan" last="Keefe"]. During the last few ranking updates, we weren't sure which side of the ball would be the most natural spot for Keefe and to be honest, we still don't. But we like him on the defensive side of the ball but will leave an opening for offense after his offseason of training at that position with Trench Mafia. Keefe committed to Air Force earlier this summer and will get a chance to play at the next level. He's been a dominating force on either side of the ball over the last few seasons and he's one of the strongest prospects in this class. [player_tooltip player_id="38794" first="Kaden" last="Jones"] - Mustang (Ranked #48 Overall - #7 DL) Mustang defensive lineman [player_tooltip player_id="38794" first="Kaden" last="Jones"] was one of the earliest DL prospects to pop up in the 2023 class. Jones and his recruitment took off early on in his career and while it's gotten a little quiet, we think that he's primed for a big season this fall. We like what Mustang has built over the last few years and they have a ton of experience returning off both sides of the ball. And remember, the last time we saw Jones and Mustang, they were pushing eventual state champion Jenks in the semifinal round. We like Mustang to not only be competitive this fall, but we think they have a shot to make another playoff run and defensively, it starts up front with Jones. [player_tooltip player_id="287379" first="Kameron" last="Estrada"] - Jones (Ranked #119 Overall - #9 DL) Jones has a few defensive prospects that we like and it starts up front along the defensive line and with 2023 defensive end [player_tooltip player_id="287379" first="Kameron" last="Estrada"]. The Jones rush-end has had a really good offseason and is primed for a big season this fall. The Longhorns will have a few new faces on the offensive side of the ball but the defense should be strong and we don't see Jones taking a step back this year. They'll once again be in the mix in Class 2A. As we mentioned at the top, this class has a good mix of defensive ends and defensive tackles and the Longhorns have that as well. Leading the way for Jones coming off the edge will be Estrada. [player_tooltip player_id="47158" first="Tyler" last="Rich"] - Owasso (Ranked #120 Overall - #10 DL) Going back to the defensive tackle position, Owasso DT [player_tooltip player_id="47158" first="Tyler" last="Rich"] was one of the first DL in the 2023 class that we got a chance to see in person a few years ago when he was just a sophomore. It was early on in his sophomore season and he was getting into the rotation and absolutely causing havoc. We love the background in wrestling and that definitely translates to what we see from him on the football field. Rich is a very dominant interior lineman and has been very productive throughout the last few seasons. Rich should watch his recruitment take off this fall and he has a great shot of playing college ball next fall. [player_tooltip player_id="118808" first="Tayden" last="Coleman"] - Beggs (Ranked #128 Overall - #11 DL) We really like the talent on this Beggs team coming into the season and they will for sure be in the mix in Class 2A. In addition to [player_tooltip player_id="112479" first="Chance" last="Jordan"], they also have [player_tooltip player_id="118808" first="Tayden" last="Coleman"] coming off the edge and giving them another pass-rushing threat and player that can completely disrupt a game. Coleman played for Beggs as a sophomore but spent last season at Ada. But now he's back with the Golden Demons and they have a real chance to contend for a state championship this fall when you look at all of the talent that they have on both sides of the ball. If Coleman gives Beggs consistent play coming off the edge, this defense is going to be nasty.
