Godfrey is someone I just stumbled across in the last few days or so who put up solid production as a sophomore finishing with 52-tackles, 4-sacks and 3-fumble recoveries. He quickly pops on film with his 1st step quicks off the ball and burst he brings off the edge. His speed allows him to be a play maker from the backside showing he can get down the line in a hurry. Like the low pad level he fires off with that helps in his ability to get leverage. Playing all over the line of scrimmage in the Hooks defensive line, he brings a physical mindset showing the ability to fight through or around double teams. Flashes pop in his hands and even shows the long arm technique and a swim move as well. Like the athletic profile he displays mixed with the physicality I mentioned and speaking with a coach on staff it sounds like they are excited about him and the potential he brings as well. Godfrey shows Power 5 potential/upside and is one I hope to get a chance to see at some summer camps.
Caleb Dilley – DE/DT – 6’3″/255 – Deer Park, TX (Deer Park):

The barrel chested prospect has been on varsity since his freshman year and played all across Deer Park’s 3-man front showing to be effective as a 0-tech and as a 4i his sophomore year. Right off the bat on his film you see the explosiveness off the ball and short area burst to close on the running back for a TFL. See light on his feet athletic ability on his film. Bringing decent length on his arms, you see him flash violent hand usage when shedding/disengaging from blocks and shows a solid motor/effort when working his way to the football. Really like the awareness and ability to get off the ground to get his hands into passing lanes he shows as well. Dilley also throws the shot put and discus and has college football bloodlines as his Dad played at Harding during his college years. He let me know he shot up around 3-inches since his freshman year and sounds like he could get even taller as his grandpa is 6’5″. As he continues to grow into that frame I’ll be keeping a close eye to see how it helps him athletically as well. Either way, he will be a key cog again up front his upcoming season for Deer Park.
Gabe Williams – DT – 6’1″/270 – Garland, TX (Garland):

Williams is a powerful defensive tackle that shows heaviness in those mitts of his but who can also move. Just watch the 3rd clip of his film to see him chase down the outside run from the backside to give you a glimpse of what I mean. Like the hand usage you see from him as he shows he will not only fight to keep lineman’s hands off of him but can also reset the line of scrimmage with the pop and power he brings with them. His quickness seems to catch OL off guard at times as you see him shoot gaps and show he can be disruptive in the backfield. At this time most of what you see is him vs the run so would like to see some of what he can do as a pass rusher but with the hand usage he flashes and the quicks/speed you see from him, he should have no problem disrupting opponents QBs this upcoming year as well.
Temmerick Johnson – EDGE/LB – 6’3″/195 – Midlothian, TX (Heritage):

Johnson is a prospect that during his sophomore year, flashed the ability to win off the edge with athleticism and hand usage as a stand up OLB in the Midlothian Heritage defense. On the 1st clip you see him abuse the TE with a solid push-pull and rip but then you see the closing speed he brings on the QB. Then on the 2nd clip he showcases a nice shimmy and swipe on the lunging OT to get inside for the sack. Bringing length on his 6’3″ frame, Johnson is an explosive, smooth and fluid athlete who not only flashes as a pass rusher but also vs the run game. See him show multiple times the ability to use his length to keep blockers off his body and shed blocks with his hands before making the play. Even see him snatch an OT almost to the ground and pick up a TFL. Love the motor you see from him vs the run as well. With the athlete he is and traits he brings, putting on some needed weight on his frame and added strength from the weight room, Johnson is one I could see really see his recruitment pick up steam this summer and going into his JR year.
