Tennessee recently announced its selections for this year’s Future Stars Team. Here’s a look at the 2026 Quarterbacks selected for Team Tennessee eighth grade.
Briggs Cherry Briggs Cherry 6'4" | 205 lbs | QB Baylor | 2026 State TN | Knoxville Catholic
The 6-foot-3 righty has long been thought of, as one of the top 2026 prospects in the Volunteer State. A returner from last year’s seventh grade Tennessee Future Stars team, Cherry brings a lot of stability to the position. He’s a dependable kid who shines every time he takes the field. Has the ability to push the ball down field and has a lot of confidence in his arm. He’ll be at Knoxville Catholic in the fall.
Madden Guffey Madden Guffey 6'0" | 165 lbs | QB Bearden | 2026 TN | Seymour
Like Cherry above him, Guffey has been on our radar for some time. Back in October he was included in our article breaking down Tennessee 2026 Quarterbacks to Know, and he has continued to jump on radars. He’s a 6-foot, 153-pound Quarterback who brings a dual-threat style to the position. It should be a nice change of pace from the air raid assault of Cherry. I like his athleticism a lot.
Maverick Chance | Brentwood
Sometimes it’s better to be sure, then to leave anything up to chance. No pun intended, but that’s what 5-foot-10, 166-pound Maverick Chance did with the Tennessee Future Stars. The righty attended both the Nashville and Memphis tryouts to cement his place on this roster. Love this kids fundamentals and throwing motion. He keeps everything tight and is there’s no wasted, or jerky motion.
