Every position had some players who gave it their all and got better by working with and against their peers. Here we will take a look at the linebackers who exhibited their skills and made a name for themselves this weekend!
Esus Robledo (2024) – Midland Legacy
5’11” – 180lbs
Robledo was a standout throughout the day. He was fast and physical, and showed versatility, going step for step with some of the best at the camp. He was fluid in his movements and showed great speed and quickness out of his stance. Robledo was one of the MVPs of the camp due to his aggressive nature and feel for the game. If this is what he looked like without pads, imagine what he will be able to do when they come on! Outstanding showing from him and he is poised for a great season.
Lorenzo Akins III (2023) – Randall
5’11” – 175lbs
Akins III came to the camp to get better and that is what he did. He was constantly asking questions after every drill and looked for ways to improve which you love to see. Akins III showed great explosion and speed from his stance and refused to be beaten in drills. Akins III put up a very impressive 40 time, running a 4.69 and that speed showed in the open field. He is one to keep an eye on for next season and gives off good leadership qualities.
Jaiden Vann (2024) – Harker Heights
5’9″ – 205lbs
Vann shows much promise in his play and in the drills showed good lateral movement. He has a strong lower half and good base for the position, and can be a problem heading into next season. He understands the game and will only improve with the experience!
Jim Carruthers (2025) – Crockett
5’11” – 205lbs
Carruthers is a young talent with an incredibly strong frame who moves very well. His power will most definitely be one of his strong suites and he looks to be ahead of the game as a freshman. Carruthers was learning in every drill and you could see the confidence grow in every rep. If you want to discuss future top players, remember his name.
