That being said, scroll down below and check out the top linebackers in the class of 2024 that are on the radar in New Jersey.
LB, Davin Brewton, Red Bank Catholic
6’1 220
Mr. Brewton was a forced to be wrecking with in 2021. Brewton has the ideal size and skill set to play at the D-1 level. In fact, he has already earned five offers from big time FBS programs. Brewton has great size and speed. He shows good agility to cover sideline to sideline and reacts to the ball well. Brewton plays fast and will always be around the ball. He is also fluid in coverage while covering enough space to react to what’s in front of him. Brewton finished his sophomore year with 2 sacks, 10 TFL, and 119 tackles. He will be a key factor heading into this season. Expect Brewton to have a better season and pile in more offers.
LB, Jonathan Lobelo Jonathan Lobelo 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Hillsborough | 2024 NJ , Hillsborough
5’11 210
Mr. Lobelo was a key contributor to capture the Group 5 title. Lobelo is physical and does a good job keeping his feet moving when making contact. He is a heavy hitter and shows his ability to make his presence felt. Lobelo always shows good effort and willing to take on blockers. He has a nasty attitude that coaches love for the next level. Also, he is solid in coverage and quickly drops into his zones. He does a good job finding the ball, reacting quickly and closing in on the ball carrier. In 2021, he finished the season with 2 sacks, 2 TFL, 55 tackles and 1 FF. Lobelo will build on this season to come back better than ever. Make sure you keep your eyes on this kid.
LB, Justin Soto, Middletown North
5’10 200
Mr. Soto had a solid sophomore season and made the most of his playing time. He does a good job playing with good instincts. Soto has good speed and strength to get to the ball carrier. He is a sure tackler and does well tackling in space. Also, has good lateral quickness and can cover from sideline to sideline. He has proven he can be effective in the pass rush as well. In 2021, he finished the year with 5 tackles and 1 FR/TD. Soto is just scratching the surface of his true potential. With more reps you can expect him to be more comfortable and perform at the best of his ability.
LB, Malachi Castle Malachi Castle 6'3" | 230 lbs | RB Rancocas Valley | 2024 NJ , Rancocas Valley Regional

Mr. Castle is an athlete that can play multiple positions on the defense. He can rush from a two-point stance and can play standing up in space. Castle has a solid frame and good strength to play at the D-1 level. He is very explosive and can easily track down ball carriers from across the field. Also, it is difficult for blockers to get into the framework of his body because he uses his long arms to his advantage. Castle has a high motor and will create havoc in the backfield. He does a good job timing the snap count and plays with good eyes in coverage. In 2021, Castle finished the year with 2 sacks, 11 TFL, 49 tackles, 1 FF and 1 FR. Castle is a new addition to Rancocas Valley and will big a key contributor for them this season.
