QB Dominic Ingrassia, 2024, San Marin
A lot to like about Ingrassia’s skillset and combination of natural ability and technique. At 6’2” 185 lbs. he’s a smooth and savvy athlete that can maneuver around the pocket and avoid pressure while keeping his eyes downfield for an open target. He’s a natural passer with plus arm strength and accuracy at all three levels. Shows a good ability to layer the ball over second level defenders with good touch and trajectory. Precise with his footwork and throwing mechanics, he maintains a balanced platform with good ball positioning capped off with a smooth over the top release. He showed good anticipation and timing throughout the day. Good upside and potential as he continues to develop.
RB Charles Brown Jr., 2023, Pittsburg
Brown has had an excellent offseason and camp circuit after winning RB MVP at the National Preps Collegiate Showcase in April and then winning it again at the PRZ Prospect Tour. His speed and lateral agility were on display all day throughout testing, positional drills, and the one on one competition. He’s a quick twitch athlete with great feet, change of direction, and short area burst to be elusive and breakaway from defenders in space. Excellent field vision and center of gravity to make quick lateral cuts around defenders. Love his versatility and wide skillset to be effective both as a ball carrier and receiver. He shows strong hands and plus route running ability to be a big time threat in the passing game. Made several acrobatic and contested catches in the one on one period to solidify the RB MVP. He’ll be a big part of the explosive Pitt offense as a senior.
WR Reid Harris, 2024, WR, Mesquite (AZ)
The multi-dimensional athlete out of Mesquite (AZ) made his long trip worth it showing out and walking away with the WR MVP award. Flashed advanced route running with a good drive phase out of his stance, excellent use of stems/nods to sell his routes, and a good ability to attack the DB’s blind spot. He was quick in and out of his breaks and showed good burst at the top of his routes to create separation. Strong at the catch point, he’s a natural pass catcher that can track/adjust to ball flight and make tough contested receptions in traffic. In one on one’s, he showed a great release move off the LOS avoiding contact and using his hands efficiently to maintain separation and get into his route. He was also one of the top overall testers on the day with a 4.63 40, 4.43 shuttle, 11 foot broad jump, and a 6.41 L drill.
OL Tyson Ruffins Tyson Ruffins 6'2" | 305 lbs | OL Long Beach Poly | 2023 State CA , 2023, Long Beach Poly
Ruffins came in as the highest recruited player in the event with 14 total offers from a variety of FBS and FCS programs. He was dominate throughout the day especially in one on one’s where I didn’t see him lose a rep. At 6’3” 305 lbs. he possesses a solid and well-balanced frame to effectively play Center or Guard at the D1 level. He’s quick and aggressive coming out of his stance with a flat back and active hands. Strong at the POA he’s heavy handed and packs a powerful initial punch to gain leverage on opponents. He stays balanced through contact with quick feet and good lateral mobility to sustain and stay in front of his blocks. He’s a plus athlete that is also a technician with his footwork and hand usage/placement. Expect his recruiting stock to continue to rise and more offers to roll in as he’s able to showcase his talent going into his senior season.
DL R.J. Stephens, 2023, Sacred Heart Prep
Stephens is an impressive three sport athlete (football, track/field, basketball) and immediately passes the eye test at 6’2” 235 lbs. with a strong and well-built frame. He continuously beat opponents throughout the day with a good combination of both strength and athletic moves. He fires off the ball with an explosive first step and good pad level/leverage to quickly gain penetration. He’s violent and overpowering at the contact point using both his upper and lower body strength to win one on one battles. Plus natural athleticism, he shows good command of a variety of moves using his lateral agility and body control to spin, swim, or use his quickness to turn the corner on offensive lineman. At this point he’s an under the radar prospect that deserves to be more highly recruited.
DB Frankie Edwards III, 2024, St. John Bosco
Edwards was impressive throughout the positional drills and one on one competition. He has shown great year over year improvement playing for one of the top programs in the country. At 5’11” 170 lbs. he possesses a strong build with savvy athleticism and great coverage instincts. Well coached, he’s extremely calculated and precise with his footwork and technique, rarely see him outside his framework or with wasted movement. He showed good transitional quickness and burst out of his backpedal to close space and make a play on the ball. Plus route anticipation and ball skills to effectively track/adjust to ball flight with the timing to make a play at the catch point. Showed he can play both press and off coverage effectively and cover all three depths of the field. Has the talent and ability to have a breakout junior campaign.
LB Drew Malogan, 2023, Tracy
At 6’1” 220 lbs. Malogan has a versatile skillset that allows him to play all over the field. A good athlete at his size with plus coordination and body control, he excelled in the positional drills showing good lateral mobility and short area burst to close space and recover. He’s an active and high motor defender that shows good ability to redirect and pursue the ball at the first and second level. He plays downhill and aggressive with the ability to be a violent finisher at the POA. Operates mainly as an in the box run stopper but made some difficult plays in coverage during one on ones at the short and intermediate levels.
