New players emerged in the latest update, and there are plenty of rising sophomore wide receivers who are starting to make a name for themselves across Georgia. Here are some wide-outs who have seen their stock rise in recent weeks and in the latest 2025 Prep Redzone Georgia Rankings.
Isaiah Mitchell Isaiah Mitchell 5'11" | 170 lbs | WR Peach County | 2025 State GA – Peach County
One of the top young playmakers across Middle Georgia, Mitchell is a quick, sure-handed receiver who had an excellent first season last fall. As a freshman, Mitchell played like an upperclassman, catching 37 passes for 544 yards and 7 touchdowns. He runs an excellent route for his age and knows how to get open consistently down the field. He shows soft hands and has big-play ability. He’s not a bigger receiver, but he plays bigger than his size. He’s tough to bring down after thee catch and finds a way to fall forward at the end of the play. He can beat defenses with his quickness, toughness, and ability to get behind the secondary. His footwork is impressive, and it’s easy to see the D1 talent as he already holds offers from Purdue, Mississippi State, East Carolina, among others. Mitchell is ranked as the No. 61 prospect in Georgia for the 2025 class and the No. 6 WR prospect.
Jabari Jones Jabari Jones 5'10" | 175 lbs | WR Westlake | 2025 State GA – Westlake
Coming in at No. 51 in the state and the No. 6 WR prospect in the 2025 class, the Atlanta-area receiver showed lots of promise and potential as a freshman last fall. He has some explosiveness and speed to his game, and he can make plays in a number of different way. He can make plays in the quick passing game, on end-arounds, and has enough speed to get behind the secondary on deeper, longer routes. The 5-foot-9 170-pounder didn’t catch a ton of passes, but that’s expected to change in 2022. Playing for one of the top programs in Atlanta, it’s tough to find the field as a freshman, but Jones saw plenty of it last year, making 12 receptions for 270 yards and 4 touchdowns. He already holds early D1 offers from Maryland, Duke, Western Kentucky, among others. Look for him to have a breakout sophomore season this fall.
Edward Coleman Edward Coleman 5'10" | 180 lbs | WR Calvary Day | 2025 State GA – Calvary Day
An extremely impressive young receiver from Savannah, Coleman is now ranked as the No. 36 prospect in Georgia for the 2025 class and and the No. 4 WR prospect. The 5-foot-11 180-pounder is an instant-impact receiver with a nice blend of speed and physicality. He shows the ability to make big yards after the catch and knows how to bounce off tackles for extra yards. He sure doesn’t look like a freshman on the field, and he made an impressive amount of plays for someone playing in their first high school season. He gets upfield quickly after the catch, he has good straight-line speed, and made plays consistently each Friday night. As a freshman last fall, Coleman caught 48 passes for 493 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Lagonza Hayward Lagonza Hayward 6'1" | 180 lbs | WR Toombs County | 2025 State GA – Toombs County
A quick, twitchy two-way player located between Macon and Savannah, Hayward is an impressive athlete from the small town of Lyons. He has good size and length at 6-foot-1 175-pounds and knows how to catch the football. Even as a freshman, it was clear that Hayward was one of the top athletes not only on the team, but in the entire area. As a receiver. Hayward caught 40 passes for 465 yards and three touchdowns. He doesn’t have a ton of flashy plays, but he consistently does his job and was a reliable option all season long in the passing game. He’s a smart player, he shows strong hands, and he can get open consistently for someone his age. He’s now ranked as the No. 67 prospect in Georgia and the No. 9 WR prospect for the 2025 class.
