It is the end of the month, and with June right around the corner it is time to phase into Camp Season. With that change, this will be the last installment of offseason weight lifting performances. Next month it is time for these athletes to start showing what they have built up this offseason out on the camp circuit. It has been awesome seeing all the gains that these studs have made this offseason. Let’s check out how these kids did in the gym one last time before we hit the camps!
[player_tooltip player_id="270794" first="Jelani" last="Payne"], ’24- Wisconsin Rapids
Lift: 500 lbs X 1 Squat
Here is a sophomore to keep an eye on! There aren’t many underclassmen joining the 500 lbs squat club, but we have one here. Jelani doesn’t have any film up, but you can bet I will be watching the 6’3" 355 lbs OT this fall as he looks to make an impact on varsity. With lower body strength like this you can bet he will have an impact in the run game.

[player_tooltip player_id="105028" first="Jacoby" last="Krill"], ’24 DL- Waukesha South
Lift: 405 lbs X 1 Squat
You see it in the tweet! Jacoby has been grinding these past two months as he has raised his max on squat by 40 lbs! He had to earn this lift too as he battled it from the bottom of his squat to the rack. Love seeing the kids come out on top of these battles. Shows their determination and desire. This is a sophomore to know on Friday nights this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="202696" first="Carter" last="Christy"], ’24 LB- Wisconsin Rapids
Lift: 475 lbs X 1 Squat, 500 lbs X 1 Deadlift, 330 lbs X 1 Bench Press
Carter just keeps getting stronger and stronger. Not only has he killed it again this month, but he also came out to the Prep Redzone Prospect Tour here in WI and shined no the field. This fall is going to be his breakout campaign. Guarantee it. Big things are coming for the soon to be junior LB. Keep an eye on him this summer if he gets out to any camps.

Ethan Dunlap, ’23 OL/DL- Green Bay Southwest
Lift: 300 lbs X 1 Bench Press
Green Bay Southwest is home to a couple of impressive athletes. Add Dunlap to that list as the big man hits the 300 lbs mark on bench press early this month. The DL had active, heavy hands this past fall. I can’t wait to see how he looks this fall after making strides in the weight room this offseason.

[player_tooltip player_id="104485" first="Blake" last="Barry"], ’23 RB- Kimberly
Lift: 515 lbs X 4 Squat
The Kimberly weight room is home to some absolute dawgs! RB Blake Berry is right at the front of the pack with this insane lift. I already liked Barry’s power and contact balance last fall. It is going to be even more impressive this fall with this type of offseason. Don’t sleep on him. Kid is going to be tough to stop this fall.

Manny Joseph, ’24 LB- Franklin
Lift: 235 lbs X 1 Bench Press
I’m excited to see Manny work his way into a bigger varsity role the next couple of seasons. He is building a great base to build upon over the next couple of offseasons. The 6’1" 190 lbs LB is one to keep track of. Franklin has a lot of playmakers to replace, but they have kids ready to step up.

[player_tooltip player_id="270637" first="Garrett" last="Sexton"], ’24 QB- Arrowhead
Lift: 455 lbs X 1 trap Bar Deadlift
The grind has been intense for the Arrowhead QB. In less than two months he packed on 30 lbs to fill out his 6’6" frame. He is going to be a sturdy, tough to bring down passer if he wins the varsity job. Sexton is also a solid athlete. Not surprising now that I see the type of power he is working with in his lower body. Very impressive pull.

[player_tooltip player_id="191982" first="Sawyer" last="Lichtensteiger"], ’23 LB/DE- West Bend East
Lift: 315 lbs X 1 Power Clean
Sawyer has consistently dominated these explosive workouts all offseason. He continues it here with a big time power clean. Cracking into the 3 plate club on power clean is legitimate and it has translated into a get off and burst that stood out at the Prep Redzone WI Prospect tour this month. Edge defender to highlight.

Matthew Motl, ’24 RB- Marshall
Lift: 320 lbs X 1 Bench Press
Matthew has been a gym rat this offseason. it is no surprise to see that he has been putting up impressive numbers as a sophomore. He is going to be a load between the tackles as a junior. Power is the name of his game and he has been doing what he can to make it an even bigger strength.

Dylan Portz, ’25 RB- Kettle Moraine
Lift: 455 lbs X 5 Box Squat
The freshman RB has killed the weight room while also standing out on the track this spring. The lift below is this month’s example of his work going into this lower body explosiveness. Dylan has been a consistent member of this offseason’s workout recaps, and with them wrapping up I will be ready and waiting to see him take the field this fall.

[player_tooltip player_id="304651" first="Jacob" last="Lyftogt"], ’23 LS- Waunakee
Lift: 350 lbs X 1 Bench Press
Pretty special when one of this month’s biggest bench presses is by a long snapper. Jacob moved 350 lbs with relative ease, and capped it off with an accurate session of snaps. Jacob is one of the top long snappers in the country based off his camp results so far this spring. Name to know if you are in need of long snapping help.

[player_tooltip player_id="300277" first="Gus" last="Wenning"] ’23 LB- Middleton
Lift: 500 lbs X 1 Box Squat, 375 lbs X 1 Split Squat
Another athlete joined the 500 lbs squat club. Gus did that, and then came out to the Prospect Tour in Franklin, WI and dominated every portion of the day. As if a 500 lbs squat wasn’t enough, he later took 375 lbs for a ride with one leg. I am confident that Gus is going to be a D1 commit this time next year. He has been grinding, showing that his hard work is paying off, and he is about to put out strong tape from the LB position this fall.

Michael Grasso III, ’23 LB- Wilmot
Lift: 305 lbs X 1 Bench Press
Wilmot has a couple of athletes putting up big numbers. One of them is the 5’11’ 195 lbs LB. Despite being a little undersized, Michael was able to generate plenty of force for this lift. I really like seeing that quick hand explosion as he transitioned from the decline of the bench to the pressing.

[player_tooltip player_id="226597" first="JJ" last="Love"], ’23 OL- Milton
Lift: 295 lbs X 3 Front Squat
I love seeing kids hitting front squats. It is a great lift to show off your overall strength as it takes legs, core, shoulders, and many other parts all working together to complete the lift. So seeing a kid hit reps with heavy weight like JJ does here gets me excited. I can’t wait to see how his great offseason pays off.

[player_tooltip player_id="104486" first="Tommy" last="Hall"], ’23 LB- Bay Port
Lift: 315 lbs X Bench Press
Bay Port HS has a beautiful gym, so I expect to see big things coming from the facility. This month we see LB [player_tooltip player_id="104486" first="Tommy" last="Hall"] bust into the 3 plate club on bench press. The Bay Port LB corp is shaping into an elite group. I’m excited to take a closer look at Tommy this fall. Big things coming for him and his squad.

[player_tooltip player_id="304448" first="Blake" last="Schraufnagel"], ’23 RB- Mayville
Lift: 450 lbs X 1 Squat
Blake has put together an elite spring. He dominated the WFCA combine last month, and this month he jumps out with a 450 lbs squat. The RB is insanely productive, has the strength to play between the tackles, and the sped to pay out in space. He is going to be a riser this summer, and a beast this fall.

Desmond Walker, ’23 OL/DL- Winneconne
Lift: 405 lbs X 1 Squat
The junior lineman may be undersized, bu the is clearly experienced in several positions, and he has the lower body strength to be able to handle himself in the trenches. The 405 lb squatter needs more attention. Winneconne has a couple of athletes to know, and Desmond is one of them.

[player_tooltip player_id="259465" first="Noah" last="Moris"], ’23 OL/DL- Union Grove
Lift: 315 lbs X 8 Bench Press
Play the 6’2" 240 lbs athlete wherever you want. Just make sure you do what you can to get him on the field for your team. Below he easily reps three plates for 8 reps on bench press. Moris has built up freakish strength and athleticism in that frame of his. His stock only goes up.
