Illinois Prospects to Watch: Part III

This is part three of my evaluations from our annual Illinois photo shoot. Look for the final installment of this series to be released on Friday. <hr /> <em><strong>Ashton Nawrocki 6‘3“ 215, LB, York, 2023</strong></em> This is your prototypical backer: very physical, high motor, and quick feet. Shows knockback power, plays smart and instinctive. 4.3 GPA. Father Nolan played for Illinois. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@ashtonnawrocki &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="135831" first="David" last="Loch"] 6’2” 210, LB, York, 2023</strong></em> Super productive and instinctive, he is a three-down linebacker. He plays downhill, will hit you, and is excellent in coverage. Big-time sideline to sideline speed. 90+ tackles in 2021. 33 ACT. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@davidloch55 &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="255963" first="Matt" last="Vezza"] 6’ 185, QB, York, 2023</strong></em> Matt is an all-around quarterback; he’s very accurate, reads well, and makes good decisions. Certainly has the mobility to extend plays. Shows an all-around developed game. Conference offensive player of the year. Academic All-state. 29 ACT. He’s also a stand-out in baseball. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@matt_vezza_9 &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="299508" first="Logan" last="Lester"] 6‘2“ 196, WR, Kenwood, 2023</strong></em> A sure-handed wide receiver with good size, strength, speed, body control, and burst. He’s very confident and productive. 3.4 GPA. No doubt a big-time prospect with a bright future. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@loganlester_8 &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="266075" first="Kiwaun" last="Davis"] 6‘2“ 170, DB, Kenwood, 2023</strong></em> Kiwaun certainly shows plenty of ability. He’s proven that he can play corner or safety. He’s a quick-twitch athlete with great length, long arms, and explosive moves. I was impressed by his loose hips and confidence. 3.1 GPA. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@davis_kiwaun <strong>Committed to Western Michigan</strong> &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="291196" first="Elijah" last="Romeus"] 6’ 185, FS, Fenwick, 2024</strong></em> Excels at tracking down the ball and shows great range &amp; leaping ability. He’s versatile with quick hands and good footwork. 4.3 GPA. Team leader and very productive. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@elijahromeus &nbsp; <em><strong>Nathaniel Marshall 6‘5“ 240, DE, Fenwick, 2025</strong></em> Possesses all the tools for future stardom. Length, footwork, quick &amp; violent hands, and is extremely fast off the snap of the ball. He plays with a mean streak and is very disruptive. Playmaker with 16 QB sacks already. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@allnatemarshall &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="266167" first="Mirko" last="Jaksic"] 6’3" 270, DT, Fenwick, 2023</strong></em> An impressive defender whose very physical and strong. Mirko can dominate offensive linemen. Also plays guard and center on offense. 3.0 GPA. Impressive ballplayer with a great motor. Plays relentless and tough. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@mirkojaksic2 &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="157980" first="Dash" last="Dorsey"] 5‘11" 175, ATH, Wheaton Saint Francis Academy, 2023</strong></em> Very athletic and can play wide receiver along with cornerback. Elusive with good hands and big-time speed. Lockdown corner with loose hips and is smooth as he transitions. 3.0 GPA. <strong>Twitter: </strong>@dashdorsey &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65871" first="Tyler" last="Jansey"] 6’1” 225, LB, Batavia, 2023</strong></em> One of the very best in the Midwest. He’s very aggressive, can make plays from sideline to sideline, shows big-time speed, and smarts. Jansey always plays with a high motor. 4.3 GPA. Two-time all-conference. His brother Michael plays for Northwestern. <strong>Twitter:</strong> @tylerjansey <strong>Committed to Wisconsin</strong> &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="299634" first="Roderick" last="Pierce"] 6‘2“ 285, DT, Brother Rice, 2023</strong></em> One of the Premier DT prospects in the Midwest. Super-strong and explosive with great reactionary moves. He plays aggressive, tough, and will dominate against the run. 365 bench. <strong>Twitter:</strong> @trey2023_ <strong>Committed to Wisconsin</strong> &nbsp; <em><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="65873" first="Chris" last="Terek"] 6’5” 295, OL, Glenbard West, 2023</strong></em> No doubt is one of the top tackle/guard prospects in the Midwest. Excellent strength, movement skills, quickness, technique, and aggressiveness. Very physical and can dominate at the point of attack. 7A All-State.
