Centralia 2028 QB Goewey Talks Early Big 10 Interest

This 6'3" 205 pound quarterback is a well-built QB that has a strong frame and pocket presence. Pushes the ball downfield with his arm strength finding his weapons on vertical routes. Shows off his athleticism being able to throw on the run effectively moving out of the pocket while keeping his accuracy. Zip on passes threading the needle over the middle in traffic. When he hits his back foot and lets it fly it is a thing of beauty! Touch on the deep ball dropping it in the bucket. Extremely clean mechanically and has advanced instincts for the position.

Goewey broke down his junior campaign.

“We did good. We had a lot of key returning key pieces on the O Line and D Line. We went 7-2. Lost to Cahokia a good team in the first round. I think this upcoming season we have a lot returning and are going to be successful. I think I did all right. I have to give credit to my offensive line and wide receivers. Also my running backs for picking up different dudes.”

Where did he see the most growth in his game from year 1 to year 2?

“From my freshman to my sophomore season I think I improved on my deep ball. I couldn't throw it as far, but I worked and I got it where I could throw it deep and accurately.”

A couple Big 10 programs have already had him in for games.

“Kenny (Bratton) and I both went to Illinois and Northwestern for visits. I got offered to go up to Illinois State for a spring game. A couple Ivy League schools.”

Illinois has family ties to the Orphans QB.

“I like them a lot. One of my uncles played there back in the day. They like how I show good leadership, character, and maintaining composure on the field.”

Northwestern was another he took with his talented wide receiver.

“That was really cool. It was at Wrigley Field. We got to see everything. They said they liked both of us.”

Expect more P4 and G5 programs to get involved in the near future! He is the #2 QB in the 2028 class and #22 overall in the state.
