Traevon Dunbar Traevon Dunbar 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Midland Valley | 2024 State SC , Midland Valley: Want to know a little about Dunbar? Look at the schools recruiting him. Penn State. Michigan State. Arkansas. Boston College. That’s just to name a few, and it brings to mind a certain type of RB. Well, that’s Dunbar. He isn’t a bruiser by size, but he’s plenty capable of running between the tackles and dishing out punishment. At the same time, he just seems to be faster than you, whoever “you” might be. He rushed for more than 1,950 yards last season and was a workhorse with 212 carries, averaging 9.4 yards per carry and scoring 28 touchdowns.
Kevon Rivera Kevon Rivera 5'9" | 215 lbs | RB Hanahan | 2024 State SC , Hanahan: One of the first things that jumps out about Rivera is his awareness. He reaches back across his body to snag an errant pitch in one highlight. In another, he passes the ball around his body behind his back to make sure he’s got a firm grip. He cuts back to open running lanes effortlessly. And the rest of his film is basically him splitting defenders who should have the angle on him and running away from them, which he does with alarming frequency. You’ll hear about him a whole lot these next two years.
Davian Brown Davian Brown 5'7" | 190 lbs | RB Fort Dorchester | 2024 State SC , Fort Dorchester: One of the most impressive plays on Brown’s sophomore film doesn’t even feature the ball in his hands. On a pop-pass to a receiver in motion, Brown leads the blocking and absolutely de-cleats an opponent. It’s just another play that highlights the physicality that he’s capable of. He’s also fast and elusive, and gives the Patriots one more weapon on an already outstanding offense. He’s got sneaky speed – it never seems like he’s got the corner until he does. By then, you’re in a world of trouble.
Turbo Richard Turbo Richard 5'10" | 205 lbs | RB Northwestern | 2024 State SC , Northwestern: Richard rushed for more than 1,200 yards and 10 TDs at the 5A level last season, almost unheard of for a sophomore. He’s also appropriately named. This guy has one speed, and that’s as fast as he can possibly go at all times. As dangerous as he can be at RB, he’s also absolutely deadly in the slot.
Carmello McDaniel Carmello McDaniel 5'8" | 175 lbs | RB Hartsville | 2024 State SC , Hartsville: If you want McDaniel on the ground, you’d better get to him early in the play. Sweeps, traps, counters, whatever – McDaniel is a prototype back in the Foxes’ wing-based attack. He’s patient, and deceptively fast. There are several plays on which he gashes huge chunks of yardage in traffic, and he’s simply not touched. He’s also a more than capable receiver out of the backfield.
