<strong>WINTER GARDEN WEST ORANGE </strong><strong>2022</strong> <strong>Head Coach:</strong> Geno Thompson <strong>2021 Record: </strong>11-2 <strong>THE WARRIORS</strong> What this program did a year ago was check as many boxes as possible, the one they dreamed of never happened. Winning 11 times, including 5-0 in district play, and two state playoff wins, head coach <strong>Mike Granato </strong>and this program did everything they could to reach the 8A state finals, falling short to eventual state champion Venice, 49-7. With huge wins during the year against Orlando East River (48-0), Apopka Wekiva (49-3), Windermere (49-0), Orlando Dr. Phillips (45-7), Orlando Boone (44-14), Ocoee (28-0), Celebration (55-8), Kissimmee Osceola (35-21) and Orlando Olympia (21-9) in the regular season, and Plant City Durant (55-6) and Osceola for a second time, 16-7, several quality athletes stepped up. Enter <strong>Coach Geno Thompson</strong> – as Granato went to Georgia – and this off-season has been much like last year, and the objective is the same – win it all.
