There is no shortage of versatile South Florida athletes who can play multiple positions on the next level. In the recruiting industry, we call these players "athletes," and they earn the ATH tag for their versatility.   Here are some lesser-known high value athletes from South Florida who could add versatility to a college football team's offense or defense as soon as next season.    The explosive playmaking wide receiver from South Miami-Dade is electric with the football in his hands and can take it the distance with minimal space. He is the type of player who can take the top off of a defense and really make it difficult for defenses to defend.   Howard fires out of his breaks; not many can keep up with him stride for stride. Howard is dangerous in the return game and has the innate ability to make opponents miss in the open field.     Johnson is a versatile offensive chess piece who can line up in the slot or at running back, giving defensive coordinators nightmares. The Miami native is a downhill runner who is tough to tackle in the open field.   He is good at stop-and-go moves and can virtually make seemingly negative plays into positive ones. He catches the ball well out of the backfield and does a good job of making the first defender miss. He needs to bulk up in size to endure college-level tackles, but the potential is there for Johnson to make an impact on the next level.     Moreland can do it all. He can diagnose plays and explode to the ball to make tackles on defense, and has also shown superior athleticism to catch the football in tight coverage.   He is an excellent open-field tackler on defense and also displays that he can make plays in the open field with the football in his hands. Moreland has Power-4-level speed to run down ball carriers and run away from defenders.     Vilma has top-tier straight-line speed as a wide receiver and is a legitimate threat to score on deep balls. He is virtually impossible to cover if he is not jammed at the line and the ball is thrown in a timely fashion.   As a defender, Vilma does a good job of locating the football while airborne and takes advantage of poorly thrown balls, turning them into interceptions. He also displays great balance on both offense and defense, where he can stay upright despite getting hit and recover to make a play on defense as a cornerback if beaten one-on-one.     Willis has blazing speed, and not many can keep up with him defensively. His straight-line speed is one of the best in South Florida. Willis also uses his elite speed to make plays on defense without committing penalties.   From the safety position, Willis is a heat-seeking missile that reacts quickly to the football and is not afraid to deliver hard tackles. He has good range to navigate the defensive backfield can often make plays on the football in the air from multiple positions.
